Some of my Interests Are:

Traveling - Everything from weekend get-aways to some town/city within a driveable distance, to weekend camping at lakes and forests, to traveling Around the World. I would love to go back to Luxor, Egypt, then fly down and explore the West coast of Africa. In conjunction with traveling, I should add:

Anthropology and Archaeology - I love studying the various cultures and the archaeological ruins of places I visit. I took undergraduate classes in both fields and took archaeological field trips in Turkey among coastal Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman ruins.
Ancient History: (Egyptian, Greek, and Roman) - a long passion, stemming from reading about Alexander the Great as a young kid, and visiting his birthplace (Pella, Greece) and following much of his battle path through Turkey. Having seen much of Egypt, Greece, and Italy only added to the passion.
Greek Mythology - goes hand in hand with the above.

Movies & TV - I'm a Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Babylon 5, fan... bigtime. I enjoy most everything dealing with science fiction and future.

Paranormal Phenomena - I took an undergraduate class in paranormal psychology and did some research (no amazing results), but ... I conducted a survey on paranormal phenomena in a "Professional and Technical Writing Course" and received some amazing statistics and 'first hand' stories. This was initially a lark based upon a few odd personal experiences but it turned out quite different. I've become fascinated with learning of other people's experiences and comparing them to my own, so yes, I'll admit it: I'm one of the few nuts who will admit having lived with a ghost (in Texas) and seeing a UFO (actually two, in Oklahoma). Have a similar experience to share and compare?

Reading - Mostly science fiction (I love Heinlein), but also Cultural Anthologies, Cultural Anthropology, Psychology, and Clinical Research journals (for work). I can also get into some prose, poetry, short stories (Eudora Welty), and fiction by M.S. "Max" Hunter, Larry Duplechan, Patricia Nell Warren, Mary Renault, and E. Lynn Harris.

Creative Writing - Prose, poetry, short stories (fiction or biographical), journal articles for community based newsletters (most all have been published, so beware if tempted to copy/use the ones posted on this website), some professional and technical writing (professional journals), and brochures and pamphlets. I'm currently working on an ambitious play for a local gay theater group and hope to write some historical fiction in the manner of Renault (using my travel photos, notes, ect. as source reference material). [Author's note: I recently finished helping a friend complete a rewrite of a formerly published book while he was busy publishing a new novel. Thank you for allowing me, Max, it was a labor of love.]

Multicultural Events - Specifically American Indian (Choctaw) tribal ceremonies, Greek, and African American cultural and tribal events. Open to most anything cultural except ballet and the opera. (I am part Choctaw, derived from my mother's side of the family.) Also:

Two Spirit - Touches on many tribal beliefs of why some Indians are gay, but encompasses much, much more.
Interracial Relationships - Hey, it's where my attractions lay.

Camping & Fishing - I enjoy getting out of the city and into the "woods" camping, walking nature trails, and I love fishing. One note: I don't eat fish. All are either tossed back or given away. If you like fish, you'll love fishing with me: you keep 'em all.

Swimming, Snorkeling, & Scuba Diving - Although I rarely get a chance anymore, I am a certified scuba diver (PADI certified in Guam), and would enjoy going again: fresh water or deep sea.

Skiing - Snow skiing and water skiing. Once again, haven't done either in awhile, (you see they're on the bottom of the list.) ... but have water skied most of my life, starting when I was 8 years old. I took my snow skiing lessons at the USA Ski School in Garmish, Germany (the German Alps) and our "graduation exam" was to ski down the 1974 Olympic ski slope. I survived - but barely (I was too afraid to fall).
