What exists between our legs or who we sleep with should not matter. Especially when it comes to hiring decisions, but it does. Whether I stand or sit to urinate has NO effect on my ability to do the work. There are places that feel that it does.
I get asked the question "What are you?", in many different forms all the time. When someone has to wonder about me, it may make them wonder about themselves. I live as a woman, work as a woman, interact with society as a woman, identify to the world as a woman. I get obsene gestures from some people because I am a Lesbian.
What am I?
I am me, Laura. My driver's license lists my name as Laura Erin Turner and my gender as female. My friends call me Laura. I answer to 'Ma'am', 'Sir' or even 'Uhhhhhh'. My body is female but NOT my mannerisms or presentation. If I put on a dress, I get mistaken for a man in drag.
I've been asked if I am transgendered and I answer 'Yes, I am. I am transgendered.'
You may wonder if I am transsexual? But let me ask what does it matter if I am or am not? I would gladly submit to any physical you want to give me; IF, I get to do the same to you! If that's not OK with you, then stop asking me stupid questions. My genitalia is MY, business and my partner's business. She is very happy with it and with me as I am. I have never heard her screaming 'It's a Man!!' and she should know, she has been with me long enough to find out. If you ask her, she'll tell you I am 100% female, why should anyone else have a problem? Let alone care!
