Can A Gay Person Be Cured?

It's a fact of life:

Bisexuality is a natural phenomenon. It has been noted throughout history in many different cultures. Although, different cultures have viewed it differently. Even today, some societies view it as positive, negative and some accept it as a part of life. Some Native Americans considered it to be a blessing to have the spirit of the male as well as the spirit of the female within one body.

Bisexuality is NOT caused by bad genes, a virus, bacteria, an overly stern parent, a weak male role model or a disease. It is a trait such as hair color, body type or skin complexion. It is not something that needs to be cured.

Some people say they have been cured:

They are not cured. They may mechanically change their behavior and perhaps, even fool themselves into thinking that they are cured. This is called being delusional.

Similarly, some people don't like the stigma associated with being overweight. So, some people fool themselves into thinking that they are fat. They lose more and more weight, sometimes until their death. This is called anorexia.

Being disillusioned is the sickness that needs to be cured.

Why do they want to be cured?

Some people see the trauma that goes along with bisexuality such as loss of friends, broken family relations, harassment, destruction of property, loss of jobs, beatings and sometimes killings. They also feel pressure from some that it is evil.

If sexuality were a choice, they would quickly see these downfalls and easily change their mind. But, since at heart they know that they were born with feelings of bisexuality, they grasp at staws that others provide.

These remedies are merely sentiments to get people to act the way others want them to act.

People do not need to change their sexuality, they need to change their attitudes towards sexuality.
