AIDS: The Facts

--AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome

--HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, stands for Human Immuno-deficiency Virus (I think)

--AIDS was first discovered in the 1980s in gay men, now we know that it is not localized to the gay community.

--AIDS and HIV do not know or care the difference between black, white, gay, straight, bi, transgender, young, old, rich or poor.

--AIDS is transmitted in these ways:

        --Blood to Blood
        --Mother to Child
        --bodily fluid exchange
        --Transfusion (if in 3rd world countries)

--You can get AIDS by having sex; it only takes once.
