(GLSEN) The Anchorage chapter of this national organization works to support
GLBT students, staff, and parents of school children.
Identity,
Inc. Local GLBT organization, published the Northview, holds
monthly meetings, sponsors events, and serves as a base for the GLBT
community in Anchorage.
Pathmakers-Alaska Promoting the
well-being of Native people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender,

Community Church Non-denominational Christian church for

House Shelter for homeless youth and youth in dangerous

Standing Together Against Rape Provides services for victims of sexual assault, regardless of sexual orientation

Alaskan AIDS Assistance Association Provides services to people living with
HIV/AIDS and their loved ones. Offers support groups and free HIV testing
weekly. Supportive of people of all sexual orientations. Operates a 24-hour helpline: 1-800-478-2437
Abused
Women's Aid In Crisis (AWAIC) Provides a shelter for women
in domestic violence situations, can provide referrals for men in such
situations. Domestic violence is defined as ANY violence in the living
situation (family member, roommate, etc.) or in a romantic/sexual

1-888-901-9876 Operates evenings from 7-11pm with a voicemail system
operational during off hours. Not a crisis line, but a volunteer can
provide referrals of local counselors, social service organizations, AA,
etc. Also good for referrals to local gay-friendly businesses and similar
stuff.
Open Door Youth Helpline
456-GLBY. NOTE: unless you are in
Fairbanks, this is a tool call. This for-youth-by-youth helpline is the
only service of the kind in Alaska.
