Miu of
A Socialite's Life encountered Thom Filicia "looking like SHIT."
Critic Christopher Kelly explains his "problems" with Queer Eye for the Straight Guy in an article at kansas.com.
Carson Kressley of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy told advocate.com "why there are five of them:
'It’s amazing how people can neglect certain aspects of their lives. Some guys don’t have filthy homes; they have really tragic clothes. Some guys have nice clothes but are really neglectful of their skin. Because there are five of us and we all have our own areas, we really bring balance to their lives.'"
"The only dress requirement virtually all restaurants have is that patrons wear shoes and shirts. Of course, that's a rule many managers erroneously say is a health department requirement.

"'The health department does not have rules that apply to patrons,' Larry Kettelhut, chief of environmental health services for the St. Louis Health Department, said glumly. 'We have rules for people preparing food but not for patrons.'"
--from an article in the
St. Louis Post-Dispatch of June 25, 2003.
