Alright! I get to tell part of my life story...Trust me, you'd be amazed at what I've done. At 30, I am just now fully able to confront my bisexuality. I just celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary with my wonderful husband, we have a wonderful 5 year old daughter (by the way... no one ever told me that taking my daughter to kindergarten would be the hardest thing I've ever had to do). Most of my life I have teetered between both, male and female relationships. The majority of my male relationships seemed based more on friendship than love. This is the way it was with my husband as well. The female relationships were based more on love and something sensual that I could just never put my finger on. After open communications with my husband long before we were married, we are both comfortable with my preferences. This did not happen over night, though. The road to my identity with other close friends and family was a long one. We have been seeking out even more fulfillment in our life even yet. Recently we've begun to explore directions in polyamory. I have had the most intersting life. Once a friend told me I should make a list of the things that I "haven't" done. Music is very important to me, it surrounds my life. I can begin to play almost any instrument I pick up, I generally play the piano, flute, and guitar (although, I'm not that good at playing the guitar yet, but I'm working on it). At one time I worked as a DJ for a weeknight jazz program in Idaho. Probably one of the most favorite jobs I've ever had. The mountains there were spectacular. The air was clear, and Jimmy, the cutting horse I adored, would let me ride forever. As an ex ski bum, I thrived when I worked as a chairlift operator in Sun Valley, Idaho and in Park City, Utah (home of the 2002 olympics). Now living in Tacoma, Washington, I yearn to someday return to the mountains. I dream of a log cabin in the snow with lots of property. In the meantime I'll just have to keep going for those long weekend drives to get to something a little less spectacular, but beautiful nonetheless. I recently began a new career as a Registered Radiologic Technologist, after returning to school for a number of years. So now with that under my belt, the next step for me is University of Washington's Medex, PA school...Yep...when I grow up, I'm going to be a Physicians Assistant. It's kind of the sissy way out of medical school...but I figure that at least this way I'll be finished while I can still haul around 60 pounds of text books. Besides, I haven't totally ruled out full blown medical school at University of Washington yet, but we'll see how life goes. ~Kristi |
