Coming Out Group

Who's behind this anyway?

Here are some bio's of the people involved.

Sean Cribbin (Facilitator)

Sean Cribbin rounded out his nineteenth year in the leather community as Mr. Leatherman Toronto 2005.  In 2005 he represented Toronto locally, nationally, and internationally, travelling to London, Amsterdam, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Ottawa, Edmonton, and Chicago.  Sean has presented workshops in Ottawa at Leather Luau, here in Toronto, and was invited to be a presenter at Lupercailia in Edmonton Alberta.  Sean has also sat on judging panels for Ms. Ottawa Leather, Mr. Edmonton Leather and Mr. Leatherman Toronto Contests.   Sean has also been active in fundraising for SOY (Supporting Our Youth), the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund, PWA, and Leather Archives Museum to name a few. Following the successful completion of his Blog "2 Cents", on www.gayguidetoronto.com you can still read Sean's commentaries and teachings on the leather lifestyle in his new column "Leather 101".  Sean has been an Early Childhood Educator for over fifteen years and continues to push his strong belief that education, no matter the subject, is of the utmost importance to all top, bottom, Daddy, slave, puppy, kindergartner...whatever...

Greg Davis (Facilitator)

Greg is a born and raised native of Toronto, and has lived here all his life. (He was even born at Grace Hospital on Church Street, in the heart of the gay village.) He cuts hair for a living, and currently runs his own business from his home. Greg had his first gay experience at the age of 17, and has been an out and proud member of the Toronto gay community ever since. It took several years for him to fully come out into the leather scene, though his interest in kink started at the tender age of 4, when he discovered he had a fascination with tying himself up. The experimentation with auto-bondage continued throughout his childhood, and by the time he reached adulthood, he was already quite handy with rope. It was in 1992 that Greg met his first leatherman, who also happened to be very experienced in many areas of bdsm. He took to the scene naturally, and never looked back. Today, Greg is a very active member of the Toronto leather community, and holds the titles of Mr. Black Eagle 2003 and Mr. Leather Fellowship 2003. He also performs in sm demos monthly at the Black Eagle, and at most local leather events.

derek DePiero

Coming out to the gay scene at 17 years of age and finding himself hanging out at the leather bars in Toronto back in the 80’s was only the beginning of his journey in the leather community.  A past titleholder, competitor at the IML Bootblack competition in Chicago, past president of FFA Miami and volunteer and graduate of “Leather University” in South Florida are just some of his community achievements through the years.

While in South Florida, he also managed and bartended at the Ramrod Bar and also apprenticed in production at LeatherWerks (a leather shop) as well as working on the sales floor and trade shows (such as Mid Atlantic Leather in D.C. and I.M.L.).  He’s also had some video experience shooting a couple of leather/fisting flicks for commercial release.

He is an Associate of Chicago Hellfire Club and Delta (BDSM clubs for men) and was a founding member of NLA South Florida as well as a member of S.P.I.C.E. (a pansexual BDSM club in South Florida).

He now lives in a committed “collared” relationship with his Sir, Greg Davis, here in Toronto.  Together they have done many public demos and events in Canada’s Leather Community (Folsom Fair North, M.L.T. and Spearhead to name a few).  derek is passionate on many aspects of leather and kink and enjoys being a versatile player.

It was in Toronto where he came out as a gay man, and since 1998, has begun to explore his interest in Leather and SM.  In 1998, Glenn was chosen to represent the Toolbox as Mr. Toolbox Leather in the Mr. Leatherman Toronto Competition. As Mr. Toolbox Leather, his goals are to establish the Leather /SM/Fetish Coming Out Group, support the Safer SM Education Project, and establish a Sexual Abuse treatment program for the gay male community in Toronto. His involvement in the gay community includes being a Communion Server Co-ordinator and Lector for the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto, a Pride Day volunteer and a tutor for the Triangle Program. Glenn's interests include classical music, carpentry, sewing, many outdoor sports and nature. Glenn resides in Toronto with his beloved friend and companion of many years, his dog Napoleon.

Ernie Lacasse (Treasurer & Facilitator)

Ernie Lacasse was born and raised in the Lower Fraser Valley of B.C. and lived in communities which were overwhelmingly blue collar. This influenced his ideal of the "hot man". He interrupted his education in Accounting to go to Australia where he lived for five years. Returning to Canada he took a office position in Prince George, B.C., and then returned to Vancouver to continue his education at U.B.C. As a student and as a graduate (with a Bachelor of Theology Degree) he lived in various parts of B.C., Manitoba, Newfoundland and Ottawa where he was "outed" at the age of 40. Soon after returning to Vancouver he was invited to join the Zodiac Leather/Levi Fraternity. He held various executive positions, including that of President for two years. He has pastored churches for the United Church and Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) and, when not so employed, has earned an income in bookkeeping and accounting positions. For a number of years he was a member of the General Council of the Metropolitan Community Churches (Universal Fellowship of MCC) and travelled to many cities in North America where, while attending to Fellowship business, he visited the leather communities. For the past ten years he has resided in Toronto and is very active as a volunteer at MCC-Toronto and, to a lesser degree, at Aids Committee of Toronto. His fetishes have been a part of his fantasy life for as long as he can remember. He hosts summer parties at the Toolbox which have become famous here and everywhere!

Chris Osborne (Facilitator)

Chris Osborne is a local guy, born and bred in Toronto. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from York University and a Master of Divinity from the University of Toronto. He has been a member of Trident Toronto and has served on the board of Spearhead. In 1997 he became involved in the National Leather Association: Toronto Chapter and has served on NLA: Toronto’s Executive and Education Committee. He is a Master/Daddy who enjoys a Daddy/boy role relationship with gord (a.k.a. k-ix), his partner of over ten years. His interests include role-play, flogging, cock and ball torture, tit torture, hot wax and dungeon design/equipment. He is a reference assistant at a local public library.

He is a member of Delta International, and was on Delta's Board of Directors for three years, including two years as Chairman. He is an associate member of Chicago Hellfire Club and The 15 Association. He was active in the now-dormant National Leather Association: Toronto Chapter from 1993 to 1998, serving four years as Male Co-Chair. He also served on NLA: Toronto's Education Committee, and has facilitated workshops on numerous topics. In November 1998, he received the Courtlan Forsey Memorial Award for contributions of lasting significance to the leather/SM community. In February 2001, he won the Canadian Award at Pantheon of Leather. He is a Daddy/Master who is fond of floggers, signal whips, clothespins, abrasion, and various other twisted activities. he is also a bootblack and a member of Men in BOOTS Club International.
