ICMS Computer College |
Institute of Computer Management and Science |
The Oldest and Largest Computer Education Institute in Mirpur |
Special Programmes:
"Free Courses for Project Participants" |
Programme:
June 15, 2002 - August 14, 2002...... |
This programme was conducted by the sponsorship of Radda
Barnen (a medical outlet of a Swedish agency), the Monthly Computer Jagat,
and a few personalities. It was targeted for the educated youths among the
low income groups around Mirpur. Despite its increasing demand, the
programme was suspended due to heavy criticism from local news papers. They
claimed that we should stop this ICT education programme to the low income
groups and slum dwellers. They need training on bamboo and cane furniture
production, instead of ICT based education. We are wasting our resources,
time and effort in wrong directions. Unfortunately Radda Barnen withdrawn their support (providing students) and ICMS restricted its activities in this direction. As it was forecasted long ago, ICT education among the mass people is a thrust sector nowadays within the global communities, and if support been obtained, ICMS would like to start the free computer programmes for the low income group educated youth again, though never be late. ICMS would like to modify the course curriculum to provide hands on training to the participants to become useful skilled manpower to the society. |
