I shoot Competitive competition 4 times a mounth.
In blackpowder muzzleloading flintlock rifles and pistols twice a mounth. I also shoot blackpowder cartridge rifles and pistols once a mounth.
I also shoot high power rifles and pistols once a mounth.
I took 3rd place last year in the state.
This I enjoy especially when you outdue the men.
In the near future I will put the pictures of the rifles and pistols that I use in the competition matches.
I love the sport and will keep on with the competition as long as they keep the sport going here in the state.
The dimes above was shot at 300 yards with a Match AR-15 Heavy Barrel and with a 112BT-Competition Grade Heavy Barrel Savage. I also have quarters that I shot with a 300 Win Mag, 26" heavy barrel.(800 yds)
Some rifles are made to use conical bullets while others use a patched round ball. The rifling twist will determine the proper projectile.
MEDIUM barrel twist, (1 turn in 48", for example) will shoot either a round ball or conical bullet.
FAST barrel twist (i.e., 1 turn in 16" - 28", ect.), requires a conical bullet. Order conical bullets in the same size as the barrel's bore diameter.
SLOW twist rifing (1 turn in 56" - 72", ect), use a patched round ball; see the chart immediately following:

Most black powder revolvers require balls or conical bullets that are at least .001-.002 larger than the cylinder's chamber and the barrel's inside diameter. The projectile IS NOT PATCHED AND MUST EXACTLY FIT THE CHAMBER AND THE BARREL BORE DIAMETER! The following chart of black powder revolver bore sizes will help you choose the correct ball or conical bullet for your own revolver.

Other shooting supplies and accessories are;
Percussion Caps
Most revolvers require #11 caps; if those you have chosen fit loosely or fall off during shooting, they can be slightly crimped with the fingers before capping the revolver's nipples. The caps will then fit the cone and will remain in place.
Wads-(proper caliber; these fit over the powder before the projectile is loaded;)
