Top Tens

(or So just what makes me tick?)

I have a pretty wide taste in music. However, what I listen to day to day varies (usually very much so) from my "Favourites of all Time". Here’s a Top Ten of the latter (in no particular order)

  1.  Runrig : "The Cutter and the Clan"

  2. Wolfstone : "The Half Tail"
  3. Capercaillie : "Dusk ‘til Dawn"
  4. Scissor Sisters : "Scissor Sisters"
  5. Rock, Salt & Nails : "More and More"
  6. Texas: "Hush"
  7. Fiddler’s Bid : "Around the World"
  8. Kylie: "Light Years"
  9. Queen : "A Kind of Magic"
  10. Aly & Phil : "The Pearl"

And what am I listening to most just now?

  1. Scissor Sisters : "Scissor Sisters"

  2. Madonna : "Confessions from the Dancefloor"
  3. Runrig : "Once in a Lifetime" (only just got on CD - had it on cassette!)
  4. Girls Aloud : "What will the neighbours say?"
  5. Gwen Stefani : "Love, Angel, Music, Baby"
  6. Robbie Williams : "Intensive Care"
  7. Gorillaz : Demon Days

See what I mean? Only a couple of artists in both lists. And talk about wide ranging. Kylie and Wolfstone in the same list? Weird. Or so everyone keeps telling me.

Confession Time

I know some would say that admitting to liking Runrig was a confession in itself, but I happen to disagree. I would agree that owning every Pet Shop Boys album was, though. And not having Abba, Steps and S Club 7 in my most hated should be as well. Speaking of which...

The B-Sides

Boy Bands. Not like Boyzone, Take That or 5ive which have either staying power or Robbie Williams or at least one or two decent tunes. But all those wannabes with totally forgettable names and totally forgettable songs. You know the ones. Eastlife. 112. Backroom Boyz. Yep - I'd have rathered Cliff Richard be the British Millennium Number One than a certain Abba ripoff.
