It was a sudden impulse in 1995 or 1996 that I got interested in genealogy. I really do not know what happend then. Later on it appeared that such interest is written in the stars. My horoscope says that I have a deep interest in the past and history of my family, in my roots and origin. And indeed, I have started it and continue. It was a simple family tree at first. Then I complicated it adding tens of relatives (in fact I did not know that there are so many of them). My researches cover both my mother's side and my father's. In 1999 I have established this web site. I had a different idea of the purpose of these pages at first. Eventualy genealogy won. Search of the name and surname origin and meaning was a great fun and I hope to develope this subject. Recent idea is to connect all Kubis surname holders around the world. I still have a lot to do in Poland but I think it is possible to learn more about the roots contacting other people in Europe or USA. I look forward to your emails and guestbook inputs. 	The origin of the name JACEK and surname KUBIS - info I managed to gather about the name Jacek and surname Kubis in the Internet. I keep researching this subject. Family tree - the simple version of my family tree with my direct ancestors only. The complete family tree - covers 277 people but for part of them I do not know their names. Curiosities about the family members - short notes about some of the family members (in Polish only). I am not sure whether I should be proud about them or rather ashamed but I think it should be taken as something funny. Famous and well-known - notes about those Kubises that have become famous because of different reasons (I would be proud to know that one of these persons is my ancestor or relative).
