Section 1. Tenets of FaithA. The Bible is the inspired Word of God (II Timothy 3:16) and is without error. (John 17:17) B. There is one Living God (Isaiah 44:6) who has revealed, and continues to reveal, Himself to us as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19: I Peter 1:2) C. Salvation is only by the grace of God. ( Ephesians 2:8) Salvation comes through believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth that Jesus is the Son of God. (Matthew 16:15-17: John 20:31: Romans 10:9)Jesus loved us so much that He died on the cross for our sins, once and for all. (Romans 6:10) He was buried, rose on the third day, (Luke 24:46) and now sits at the right hand of God, ever making intercession for us. (Romans 8:34) Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature, the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come. (II Corinthians 7:14) D. We look forward in blessed hope for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Isaiah 9:7; Titus 2:13; Revelation 19:11-16; 20:6) Section 2. Ordinances of the ChurchA. Baptism by Water. The ordinance of Baptism by water is taught in the Scriptures. (Matthew 28:19) All those who repent and believe in Christ as their Savior and Lord are to be baptized. (Mark 16:16) Thus, they declare to the world they have died with Christ and they have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:3-4) B. Holy Communion. The Lord's Supper, consisting of the elements, bread and fruit of the vine, (Matthew 26:26-28 Mark 14: 22-24; I Corinthians 11:23-26) is a symbol expressing our sharing fellowship with our Lord Jesus Christ. (I Corinthians 10:14-21) It is a memorial of His suffering and death; (I Corinthians 11:26) and a prophecy of His Second Coming. (I Corinthians 11:26) and is enjoined on all believers, "until He comes"! (Matthew 26:29; I Corinthians 11:26) C. Baptism of the Holy Spirit. All believers are entitled to and should expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit; according to the Scriptures. (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-5) With the Holy Spirit comes the endowment of power for life and service, (Acts 1:8) the bestowing of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry. (I Corinthians 12:1-31) It may be evidenced by speaking in tongues. (Acts 2:4) The speaking in tongues is the same in essence as the gift of tongues, (I Corinthians 12: 4-10; 28-31) but different in purpose and use.
