LIGHTS... CAMERA... ACTION!!!

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, (depending where you are located on the globe) in the beautiful Island of Barbados, A Diva was born! (cliche', huh?!). Yes, that Diva is me; born 33 years ago (not by immaculate conception!). I've lived here on the Island almost all my life and believe me, it hasn't been easy. Despite the development and technological progress, this Island's people still remain very primitive in their psychological outlook.

In this very antagonistic society, to be Gay, Transvestite, Transsexual, Lesbian or even Alien (you name it!) is like being accused of witchcraft in the middle ages (Joan of Arc, I sympathize with you). It is indeed sad to see that as the new Millenium dawns, society and its traditional way of thinking (don't get me wrong, I have nothing against tradition) still continues to pass judgement on individuals who decide to stand up and be themselves (take it from me, leave the judgement to the Creator; that is His/Her job)... and I could go on and on... Who knows... I could become one of the powerful World Leaders in the next few years? Imagine that!!

Anyway, Enough of the issues(and I do have issues)

Read on............

Occupation
I'm a Fashion Designer (Associate Degree). Twelve Years now and I'm planning on launching my own label very soon (who knows, it could become International). Oh Yes, I make all my clothes, so if you see anything you like, feel free to drop me a line and an order.

I'm also a Moon-light performer (meaning I perform once in a Blue Moon!) doing impressions in a cabaret setting simply thrills me, yes and I do do Tina Turner! I also love to make my audience happy and satisfied, so after my performance they usually go home appreciating Life a little more. Where does all this take place? In a cozy little Restaurant on Barbados West Coast. It's called 'Ragamuffin's' (don't get scared, its just a name).

Hobbies
Oh, I just love travelling the various countries and meeting interesting people who are not either boring or judgmental. I would love to visit the Far East and Australia someday but Paris is my number one passion. I enjoy intelligent conversation (not political) and light humor with a twist of sexuality. My ideal dinner guests would be Tina Turner (whom I adore), Michael Jordan, Whoopi Goldberg, Rupaul, Tyson Beckford and Michael Jackson.

My favorite foods....Hmmmmm... I love Chinese and Italian but am quite open to new, different dishes (no pork,no beef).

Reading is another pastime for me but books that deal with spiritual consciousness (metaphysics) interest me a lot. Right now I'm trying to source the 'Napoleon book of Fate' but it's out of print.

I am also an artist (one of my god given talents) and an avid shopper (yes, like all women, shopping really does it for me when I'm depressed). I'm a simple yet classic type so guys, if you want to buy me anything... just sign over your bank account (Ha!Ha!).

I also love make-up; Fashion Fair, Elizabeth Arden and Revlon.

My pet above all is... Astrology. That is a subject I can go on... and on... and on about. You get the picture. I'm a Virgo (The Virgin, yeah, yeah, ok) with Gemini rising. That means I have a double dose of Mercury in my Veins making me dual, bi-polar and very moody (not unstable though). Virgo is the second of the Earthly Trigon. These people are normally modest, thoughtful, pleasant, attractive, kind of moody, critical, sarcastic and quick tempered when provoked. The lucky day is Wednesday and the Gemstone is Sapphire. Colours for this sign are Blue, Grey & Violet (I personally prefer Red, Orange and Royal Blue). We have compatibility with Cancer, Capricorn, Scorpio and Taurus. Famous Virgo's include Sophia Loren, Raquel Welsh, Elvira, Jose Feliciano, Stephen King, Twiggy, Jacqueline Bisset and Gloria Estefan.

Anatomy
For the record... I'm not on Hormones and I haven't had 'The Change' (not that I wouldn't if I had half a chance). I've always had a natural feminine looking body from a very young age although now, I am quite tall (If you didn't know... I'm 6'4"... Yeah, the NBA could use me if Dennis Rodman decides to call it quits).

I'm not a Transvestite either. I practically live my life as a woman but I generally play it down (I mostly wear slacks or Jeans if I'm not performing). Some people call me the 'Black Barbie' because of my physique; The long neck, square shoulders, tapered waistline and symmetrical hipline... Oh Yes... and the L-O-N-G legs. Yep, you could cross the Atlantic on them and still get frequent flyer miles! I fluctuate between a size 10 and 12 dress size and my weight is... well, a lady never tells. My hair is shoulder length(natural)but I enjoy wearing wigs, I like the different looks and personalities they give me. I'm a Shoe Freak. The styles are unlimited! At 6'4" tall,I'm sure you didn't think I'd be wearing a size 5 shoe did you? I wear size 11-12 (women) maybe a 10 sometimes depending on the cut. I have shoes in bags everywhere, some I have never worn. CHILDREN!!!! Never wear a Grown-ups shoes!!!Your sure to get big feet!*smile*

Men
This ought to be interesting since as they say 'you can't live with them, can't live without them' and since I'm still single after three years I just can't decide what to look for; one guy might have a quality I like then BAM! I meet someone with another. The longest I've been with a guy was four years and believe me it was a Fairy Tale. The good thing is we still talk (on the phone).

So what do I look for in a man? Honesty... Thats number one. If you are going to sleep around... Tell Me! It wouldn't hurt and we're certainly not married (that's another issue). I love a man who acts all business like and nerdy in public but when you get him home, takes off the glasses, loosens the tie... well... you know the rest. I also like sensitive, intelligent men (not boring or arrogant) who are not afraid to show emotion. Then there are some who are loud and rough on the edges; in other words...MASCULINE!...

I find all these types exciting. I only discriminate when a man is a total pervert or an asshole (Oopps! Did I say that?)... But race-discrimination is not my thing and colour is defiantly not a problem. It's a New Millenium! Variety is the spice of life! (although I've never been with someone of another race I did come close once or twice).

The 'Tall, Dark & Handsome' thing (Passe). There are some guys who are totally gorgeous but lack personality and are totally vain (Girls, hide your dresses). I also like brave men, men who are not afraid to be seen with me in public and are proud to be seen as my partner. Men who take the 'bull by the horns'. Men with a little mystery and the element of suprise (good suprises that is). Despite the fact that looks are secondary in my book, I'm not looking for a Quasimodo as my lifemate so if bell ringing is your thing, please save yourself the trouble.

Enough about men(and the beat goes on)...

Titles
Besides winning two Beauty Pageants here in the Caribbean :- "Miss Female Impersonator 94" and "Queen of Queens 94" (of which I am still reigning)... you could say that I have somewhat paved the way for others like myself in this part of the world. I am also a self-certified counselor/oracle and don't forget DIVA!

Ambitions
There are so many. Let me start..
  1. I would love to appear in a Sci-Fi movie or a Batman/James Bond flick... as long as I can play the Villain...ess.
  2. To perform in a Broadway Musical (I can dance and carry a tune) or even the Moulin Rouge.
  3. I must (and I stress MUST) write a book about... The Life. There are so many things to share.
  4. When I do launch my Menswear line,I would like to establish links from the Caribbean to the rest of the world.
  5. To find my Soulmate and to be happy with that person for life.
  6. To break barriers of race, sexuality and gender.

Philosophy
I like to create my own but "Live & Let Live" is my Motto. Then there is "Seize the Moment".

But this one I just made up...:

"If the person next to you has a pitcher of milk and you have cornflakes... why not make some cereal together?"

So...until,

God Bless,
