Double tap
This one's for real.
Remember 'jungle lane',
watch your step,
watch your front,
look for movement,
listen,
smell,
keep the rifle's butt in your shoulder.
Up ahead,
among the autumn painted thorn trees,
a noise,
a bush quivers,
friend or foe?
Animal or enemy?
Amidst the kaleidoscope of shapes and shadows,
a man,
an AK rifle.
Heave up on the FN,
hold your breath,
both eyes open,
no time to aim,
double tap.
The two shots sound as one,
and all hell breaks loose.
