DearLord

Each night before bed I say a prayer
To thank God for all he has given
And all that I have to share.

Thank you dear Lord for giving me this day
For letting me live my life
And to speak all I have to say.

Thank you dear Lord for my family and friends
For the ability to show
That I have love that never ends.

Thank you dear Lord for the love that you have shown
For giving me strength
To go on in life and make it on my own.

Thank you dear Lord for the simple thing
For flowers and birds
That make my heart sing.

Thank you dear Lord for listening to me
For your shoulder that I cried on
Even though your face I can not see.

Every night I smile and think after I pray
And I lay my head down
For when I wake it will be a new day.
