No SIGs have been formed as of the date MeNTA was approved by the LOFT board.

There are national and statewide organizations that a SIG can have an affiliation with, including The American Boyz (for F2Ms), Renaissance (for all CDs), Tri-Ess (for het CDs and spouses/SO's). A state political action group, NYAGRA, is also a possibility.

But the formation of SIGs requires members willing to be involved.

SIGs are not limited to affiliates of national or statewide organizations. There is no reason a SIG could not be formed to foster the interests of gender-variant people having a common interest.

After our first general meeting in January, there appeared to be an interest among a number of members to form a Tri-Ess chapter as a SIG. The working name of the SIG is "Mu Nu Tau." A couple of the members will be organizing this SIG.

There is also the possibility of a transsexual support group, but a core of members needs development.

Our first meeting in January 2000 drew no F2Ms, but we believe that as time goes by, and the word gets out, some will be able to attend, and form an F2M SIG.
