The Uniting Network logo was first used at the meeting of the national Assembly of the Uniting Church in Australia in Perth, during July, 1997. The design represents the the coming together of God's people as the diversity of fibres in the fabric of life.

The Uniting Church affirms that all people of faith are welcome at the Table of the Lord regardless of sexuality or any other barrier of distinction. In this is the principle of the inclusive Christ.

There are some people within the Uniting Church in Australia who seek to place barriers to further participation of homosexual persons within the life, leadership and responsibilities of the Church. It is often said that homosexual persons are welcome to the Table but no further.

Uniting Network deplores such reductionist views of Christian inclusivity and affirms that being welcome to the Lord's Table is a sufficient measure for full particpation in all aspects of Church life, including service, leadership and responsibility. It further affirms that faith and baptism are sufficient for fully participating in the life of the Church and Christian witness.
