If you are not Italian you should be quite familiar with my name for one reason. More precisely, for one song. Yeah, right... "My name is Luca... I live on the second floor". Probably the only Suzanne Vega song you can remember. (Well, the original one was Luka with a K. But who cares?)

I was born in Luxembourg in 1968. Both my parents are Italian so I have an Italian passport too... I attended the European School in Luxembourg from the beginning to my "Bac".
As far as I can remember, I had quite a quiet life: lots of TV, phonecalls... you know, that sort of things. Oh, I nearly forgot my brother. Yeah, he's 6 years younger than me. His name is Fabrizio and he lives in Perugia now.
Living in Luxembourg was sometimes very boring, as you can expect from a small country, with a very small capital and more banks than pubs.
So nothing really important happened in my first 18 years, except that I realized one day (don't remember when, I swear) that I was more attracted by those cute Danish or Dutch boys than by their sisters. But since I was very shy and in a very small country, I never had the guts to come out.

At the age of 18 I moved to Milan. You know, if the Universe has an arse hole, it has to be Luxembourg. It's not that I don't like arse holes (ok, bad joke) but moving from that small bank-town to a big city was really an exciting experience. It gave me the opportunity to ... you know... live the lifestyle. So the first thing I did was to find a potential future ex-lover. I met hundreds of guys (just met, ok?) then in 1989 I met Luca (not the one of the song. Another one). We've been together for 3 years and he still is one of my best friends.
We broke up in 1992. In 1996 I met Michele. He was on IRC and 4 days after our first blind-date we were in eachother's arms. But you know... "nothing gold can stay" (R.Frost) so after 4 or 5 months he kissed me goodbye.

NO! I'm a copywriter in an advertising agency and I have a lot of fun. Some of my commercials? Well maybe you've seen the Diet Coke commercial with the cute guy getting into an all-female office. I can tell you he's even better in real life! Then I made some Marlboro, Sprite, Merit commercials and some other stuff but only for the Italian TV.
I think I'll have to stop here now. A lot of things have happened since then but they're too recent. When they'll become History, well maybe I'll tell you about them. :)
Stay tuned for more happy days!

I grew up in front of a TV set and that small box is still one of my favourite companions. I think that makes me part of the TV Generation, but it's ok. I love Lucy, Mary Tyler Moore, Doris Day, Dynasty, The Simpsons, Bewitched, Absolutely Fabulous, Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, The Muppets, Mr. Bean, Eight is Enough, The Brady Bunch, The Jeffersons, The Bionic Woman, Charlie's Angels, the Little House in the Prairie and tons of other TVcult series, from Love Boat to The Avengers, Invaders, etc...

But I like the Big Screen too! I've seen Romeo+Juliet maybe ten times (Oh, Leo...), I melted for Stand by Me, I cried for Forrest Gump, Mr. Grape (Oh, Leo...), Birdy, Titanic (Oh, Leo...), The Outsiders... I laughed with Steve Martin (L.A. Story), Woody Allen, Neil Simon, The Full Monty, Doris Day+Rock Hudson movies (Pillow Talks). And I think Wenders' Wings of Desire is maybe the best movie ever...
Of course, I like gay movies too: I loved La Cage aux Folles (the original French one), Priscilla, Beautiful Thing (they are SO cute!), and my fav. Torch Song Trilogy.
I'm also a fan of so-called B-movies or trash-movies. Everything from John Waters' Polyester and Female Trouble to old Sci-Fi movies from the Fifties (I also have a copy of Ed Wood's Glen or Glenda in my room, but it's really too boring to watch...).

Music is a drug, that's why I spend almost all my money in CDs... I have hundreds of them here near me and if you browse for a second you can find lots of so-called alternative bands, especially from Indie UK labels. But what hits your eyes is the huge collection of Springsteen CDs. In fact, he's still one of my favourites artist. Albums like Tunnel of Love or Nebraska or even Lucky Town affected me a lot and when I want to listen to meaningful lyrics I still pick up one of his songs. The other artists I listen to are: RADIOHEAD (my favourite band), Smashing Pumpkins (I LOVE Billy Corgan), The Smiths, Nick Cave, L.Cohen, REM, Blur, Suede, Whipping Boy, James, Dylan, Gene, Lou Reed, Trash Can Sinatras, Neil Young, Tom Waits, Pulp, Nick Drake, Placebo, Belle & Sebastian, Charlatans, Boo Radleys, Lightning Seeds and of course all the gay icons: Abba, Boney M, Sylvester, Gloria Gaynor, Village People, Bronski Beat, Weather Girls, Pet Shop Boys etc...
