Knitted Diaperbag
Diapers, that is. Anyway, this bag is extremely simple and rather versatile. I have one for my books, and have made several as baby shower gifts.Materials8 ozs. worsted weight yarn (acrylics are really good for this, since it's always getting washed)
Rope or leather straps or handles. (Knitted ones don't last)
Size 10 needles.
Tapestry needle
PatternCast on anywhere from 65 (small bag) to 120 (huge bag capable of double duties for gym or twins!)
I usually use 75.
first 15(30 for large bag) rows: Garter stitch
Next 70 rows: Stockinette
Last 4 rows: Pattern repeat of Misty's broomstick Lace: Misty's Broomstick Lace or any other beading row you like. Finishing
Run yarn through beading row.
Sew seam, from the bottom up. There should only be one...it's a circular bag.
Attach handles or back straps as you please. I made mine into a little backpack. You can knit a flap in stockinette over 20 rows, if you like, but it needs reinforcement to keep nice corners, so you'll have to sc around it.
