Hi Grrls!! Just a quick note to let you all know that we had a fabulous time last night with Mr. Donovan as our host in his glamourous home and yard. Who would have ever known that little bitch (I mean butch) Gary was so talented in the kitchen and with his tools!. Martha Stewart would be so proud!! It was an international evening for all as we grabbed our passports, threw on our rollerblades and crossed the river to our soon to be independent neighbour - Quebéc! We left Mr. Donovan's with a slow cruise down the canal to the Chateau Laurier. Here we lost a few of the grrls and had to alter our route from the base of Parliament to beside the Chateau Laurier (apparently Gary & Barry were curious as to who was working last night! *grin*) (I love you guys!! - it's just a joke!) So, after some serious vibrations from crossing the might Ottawa River via the Macdonald-Cartier bridge to our Museum of Civilization with its fabulous curving lines - quite a contrast to that awful E.B. Eddy plant!. Alas, I digress … on with the tour … We continued along the river until we got to the Portage bridge where we lost a few of our brethren who had to return to make the food . The rest of us carried on in this foreign land "Onward and Upward" if you will as we continued to follow the river to the Champlain bridge. Along this treacherous trail we encountered many a fat-bottomed girl as well as several other distastefully clothed persons who were enjoying the sport of rollerblading - it just goes to show you that just because you've got rollerblades doesn't mean that you're worthy enough to skate with our group! At this point we decided that we better start our return or there'd be no food for us. So we crossed the river and came back on the Canadian side (under the guise that the paths were better - but we really knew why we were over there - by the way Dan, how is your friend, and why weren't we introduced? *grin*) We made it back safely although I'll admit, the hill from the canal to the Chateau Laurier was the part that just about did me in. I keep forgetting exactly how old I'm getting! Back to Gary's for a wonderful barbecue and tour of her beautiful canal-side home, skylights and all. If you haven't been I strongly recommend that you check it out, it's gorgeous!. (She's so handy!, I'm all giddy just thinking about it!) As for next week, we're looking for someone to host. I won't be here next week otherwise I'd host it myself. If someone can do the honours, can you please contact me before Friday so I can get an e-mail out otherwise, we'll postpone until the following week. Have a fabulous day and do write soon so I know what everyone is up to! Big Butch Cyber-kisses,
