My First Halloween
November 1, 1997
I arrived in town about noon on Saturday November 1 and checked in. I immediately started getting ready cause even though the ball was hours away, there are always a million details to attend to. Tiffany arrived a couple of hours later, dressed. I wish I looked as good as she does and had her confidence. Anyway we began getting our costumes together and started the first of many trial fittings and repairs. I was going as a nurse. I had made a name tag Beverly Barnes, RN "Head" Nurse. I had all of my one lines practiced and a bottle of "Virgin Again" pills to dispense to anyone in need of that first time feeling - in delicious cherry flavor. Tiffany was going as a ballerina which is very appropriate with her HP. We did take some pictures until my camera died (repair shop here we come)..
We later changed into something more appropriate and went out to dinner to the same restaurant that we had visited the weekend before. I again wore the same green knit dress that I had worn the previous week while Tiffany worn a new red shirt waisted dress. This was the first time that we had been on our own in public without the accompaniment of a more experienced TG girl, but hey this was my fourth outing and I was a pro (yeah... right). Dinner was very good, and we left to return to the room to change into costume..
We were late getting to the ball (we girls just can't get our acts together) around 10 p.m. It was raining so the turnout was light, around 30 people. There was a mixed bag of attendees and there were some that I recognized from Southern Comfort. The music was good, there was dancing, areas to sit and socialize, and a cash bar. I felt perfectly comfortable dispensing medical advice to all whether they needed it or not. I got to make some new acquaintances and got to know some others a lot better. There was even a FtM there crossdressed as a woman. He said that he felt like he had come full circle. Everyone enjoyed themselves, and I hope that they will repeat the event next year..
Tiffany and I reluctantly returned to the room where she changed into a skirt and a top. She was leaving that night on a business trip and she was traveling dressed (you go girl). As she drove off I was hoping that one day to be able to follow her lead. For now I removed my makeup and slipped on my nightie and curled up in bed with a smile on my face..
An interesting sidebar here is that Southern Comfort gave me a lot of confidence in myself. And as long as I had someone with me on these outings, I had lost virtually all of my fear about going out and concentrated on having fun. That is a lot, considering the short three months that I have been out. I still have to get beyond a lot of my hang ups and I still have not soloed yet but that day is coming also.
