Harry Hay

Dear Friends,

We are doing a PBS documentary on the life of Harry Hay, who in starting the Mattachine Society in 1950, is widely credited as the founder of the modern gay civil rights movement. I am writing to ask for your assistance in this project. . We are in need of any film clips and/or photo's depicting gay life as it was in the 1930's, 40's, 50's and early 60's. If anyone might have or know where we can track down such images we would be most appreciative in your getting back to us shortly so we can discuss the possibility further.
