WHAT'S A GIRL TO DO? (or, Incident #1) Now, some girls they have accidents, At this they're very prone, My Dear, if you are one of these, I'm sure you're not alone. With me it's always incidents, Little things go wrong, So, bear with me a moment, And listen to my song. I went to get my ears pierced, So, standing very tall, I plucked up all my courage, And went off to the mall. A sign was in the window, It said, "Free starter set, If we do the piercing, This is what you get." I wandered through the doorway, And looked around the place, The store was very tiny, There didn't seem much space. Where did they do the piercing, There was nowhere in sight, And then I knew for certain, Things were not quite right. A young girl came to help me, I said, "Where do you pierce?" "Why, right here in the window." Her look was something fierce. "You mean I have to sit here, For everyone to see?" Her nod of confirmation, Just devastated me. Now, sitting in a window, In a busy shopping mall, Is not so very pleasing, Not my ideal at all. So, feeling somewhat shattered, I hastened out the door. And both my ears are hole-less, And I won't be back no more. Janey Lang 1st. Nov. 1997. |
