The song that Pete regretted ever doing but after their first three compositions from SOPHISTICATED BOOM-BOOM failed to have any impact, That's The Way (I Like It), originally a hit for KC & The Sunshine Band, was inevitably released. At the time Pete said that it was "only done for a joke, because KC and the Sunshine Band couldn't write good songs." The excellent video attracted as much attention as the song featuring female body builders and filmed in the showers at Arsenal's Anfield Park football ground, and this together with a live appearance with the song at the Oxford Road Show saw the song enter the UK Top 40. It eventually peaked at No.22, giving Dead Or Alive their first hit and first appearance on Top Of The Pops. All formats featured an instrumental version, Keep That Body Strong (That's The Way) on the B side. When the song entered the Top 40, Pete felt the need to include one of the band's own compositions. He released alternative 7" and 12" versions with Do It from SOPHISTICATED BOOM-BOOM on the B side, although these were withdrawn when the song dropped out of the charts.
