Prodigal Daughter

Who is this child in my arms so distressed.

Shaking and trembling for the love she has missed.

She thought she was getting life's biggest thrill.

When she started drinking and popping a pill.

Into the darkness her life was consumed.

Torn and ripped only too soon.

Guilt and shame were her trophies of the night.

Tricked and used she lost every fight.

Where was the promise of happiness she was told

When into sadness she was quickly sold.

And God being grieved for her soul lost.

Ransomed his Son to pay the cost.

Into the light her soul is transformed.

As Christ lifts the shades of her darkened room.

Joy, peace, and love chase away her wicked past.

And let you know the Lord's faithfully at the task.

And oh, how the Lord will shout for life restored.

And unto her life His glory will be adored.

For someday soon she will shout with glee,

"I can do all things, in Christ, who strenghtens me."

I wrote this for a girl coming out of drug addiction and it is a reminder to me to pray for all the lost children. Mother's pray for your children...it is powerful.
