In the summer of 1991, I took a trip to China. It was a private tour for friends and family that was organized by our family friend, Mr. J. S. Shiah. The trip consisted of a four week tour of Buddhist temples and sacred places. Some people, like myself and cousins Karen and Aaron, did the whole trip; while others, like my mother, grandparents, uncles and aunts only did the later half. The group initially took up two buses, but after people joined us for the second half, we occupied four buses. From our family alone, there were eventually ten people.
It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life...
