POETRY
IN
MOTION

There is nothing like watching kittens
play on a snowy winters day,
or a roaring fire
in the fireplace and a
good book of poetry
to make a person feel warm and cosy
inside and out.

MOMENT...............

For one brief moment,
you touched my heart, my soul.
For one brief moment,
that only I will ever know.

There was a time for hate and greed,
But my love you took them away from me.
In there place you have left love and joy,
there is no longer any empty void.

My truth alone with you shall I share,
The one who keeps me far from despair.
I pray our love will continue to grow,
as our lives entwine, and eternity flows.

For one brief moment,
You touched my heart, my soul.
For one brief moment,
That only I will ever know.

Such sentiment is strange to me,
But one look from you and I believe.
All my hopes and wishes too,
I know that I have found them in you.

You have brought out the best in me,
All the world cant help but see.
Now the child in me is gone,
You found the woman who will carry on.

For one brief moment,
You touched my heart, my soul.
For one brief moment,
That I never again shall know.

WISH

I wish for much simpler times...and things...
when we could stop and enjoy each other...smile laugh...share...

I wish for much simpler times...and things..
that money cannot buy... a walk in a gentle rain...hand in hand...
watching a beautiful sunset...sharing the fragrance of a beautiful flower...

I wish for much simpler times...and things...
that only come from deep inside...
the ability to see the beauty that surrounds us...
to cherish the friendships that we have...

I wish for much simpler times...and things...
the childhood joy and excitment we tend to lose with age...
the childhood playfulness and simple happiness...

I wish for much simpler times... and things...
that seem to escape us...a run in the park...
a game of tag...red rover, red rover...a game of marbles...

I wish for much simpler times...and things...
the ability to love freely...unconditionally...
not being impaired by our transition from children to adults...

I wish for much simpler times...and things...
that seem so far away,gone...that we reach and reach...
but are never able to touch again...
that seem to be gone with time...

I wish for much simpler times...and things...
telling scarey stories with the lights out, while sitting "indian style" with your friends...
with your favorite blanket pulled over your face...
all screaming in unison with child-like fevor...

I wish for much simpler times...and things...
when work was a chore and not a task...
when a quarter was a goldmine...when ice cream was the best thing there was...
a neightborhood game of ball was the only "fighting" in the day...

I wish for much simpler times...and things...
when life itself seemed so uncomplicated...so simple...
when money was a means and not a way of life...

I wish for all that childhood was ...
and all that adulthood has taken away...
that society and people were...
and not what they have become.

WOULDN'T IT BE NICE

Subject: wouldn't it be nice?

--I Know Something Good About You--

Wouldn't this old world be better
If the folks we meet would say--
"I know something good about you!"
And treat us just that way?

Wouldn't it be fine and dandy
If each handclasp, fond and true,
Carried with it this assurance--
"I know something good about you!"

Wouldn't life be lots more happy
If the good that's in us all
Were the only thing about us
That folks bothered to recall?

Wouldn't life be lots more happy
If we praised the good we see?
For there's such a lot of goodness
In the worst of you and me!

Wouldn't it be nice to practice
That fine way of thinking, too?
You know something good about me,
I know something good about you.

LOOK AT MY HEART

Not my color nor my accent,
Not my religion nor my heritage.
Look at my heart......
Not my age nor my gender.

Look at my heart.........
Not my blindness nor my deafness,
Not my lameness or loss of limbs,
Not my slowness of mind.

Look at my heart..........
Not my lack of wealth or fine manners,
Not my employment or social status.

Look at my heart..........
Not my diverseness, Not my lifestyle.
Look at my heart..........Not my appearance,
Nor my clothes.
Look at my heart...........
Not those things that might make me
different from you.

Look at my heart........
Not those things that you feel
separate me from you.
Please see my heart.......
My heart pumps the same red blood.
My heart beats with pain, joy, and sorrow.
My heart is cared for by a Loving God....
My heart worships and adores its Maker.
My heart aches for your acceptance........
But my heart is loving and giving,
My Heart is fair and forgiving.
My heart prays always to look at Your heart....
And not Your lack of knowledge and understanding
