The KITCHEN

"...fast food is an integral part of North American culture - and sometimes you just have to do cultural things..."

I like all kinds of ethnic food,  whether it's authentic or a westernized version.

I don't, however, like things that are absurdly HOT.  I don't mind spicy but not HOT!

The strangest thing I've eaten is raw pork in Japan. They raise totally antiseptic pigs just for this expensive delicacy.    (...so, yes, I am an OMNI-VORE...)

Pingmaster's Favorites

Hot sandwiches, perogies, prime rib, roast chicken, souvlaki, chicken curry,
turkey with dressing  ( I love Christmas ) , Vietnamese pho, won ton soup, BBQed anything,
pizza, minestrone soup, asparagus, sushi and any kind of seafood.

Special weaknesses     mashed potatoes with peas and gravy

Drinks     ginger ale, hot chocolate, tea

Dessert     anything mango or chocolate

Thumbs up

onions, garlic, and ginger   ( I like ginger for flavor but I hate biting into chunks of it! )

Thumbs down

olives - too bitter  ( I'll use olive oil though...)

Here's a favorite chicken recipe:

::::::::::::::::: Bitch Chicken :::::::::::::::::

3 tablespoons of olive oil
2 crushed garlic cloves
3 medium sized onions - chopped
1 teaspoon of chilli pepper seeds   (optional - amounts vary according to your taste and tolerance)

FRY ABOVE INGREDIENTS IN A LARGE PAN  (use less oil in a non-stick pan)  FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES
-
MIX IN 1 TABLESPOON BROWN OR GOLDEN SUGAR
-
FRY ON MEDIUM HEAT UNTIL ONIONS ARE LIGHTLY CARMELIZED
-
ADD 8 MEDIUM SIZED CHICKEN PIECES AND FRY UNCOVERED FOR ABOUT 8 MINUTES TO SEAL IN THE JUICES
-
STIR IN: 2 TABLESPOONS OF WATER
-
3 TABLESPOONS OF DARK SOYA SAUCE
( if you like things saucy like I do,  double the amount of soya sauce )
-
  3 TABLESPOONS OF VINEGAR
-
BRING TO A BOIL
-
REDUCE HEAT TO LOW AND COVER
-
SIMMER FOR 15 MINUTES
-
REMOVE COVER AND RETURN HEAT TO MEDIUM
-
COOK 25 - 30 MINUTES OR UNTIL SAUCE IS THICK TO YOUR LIKING
-
SERVE OVER RICE
