Internet Relay Chat

IRC-Chat is a good opportunity to share experiences and meet people. Especially for crossdressers, transsexuals and others, who don't want to be outing themselves right now, it's often more easy to talk in the anonymity of the chat. To chat with IRC you have to connect to an IRC-server and switch to a channel. The channels are divided into areas of interrest, which is specified by the channel name most of the time. In #transgen_cafe for example there should only be people concerned with T* interrests. The topic itself may change during conversation. In the following I have collected a list of IRC-clients (the software making the connection to IRC) for different operating systems. Should your operating system not be listed, write an e-mail and I will try to get a client for you. After the list of clients there is a list of channels concerning T*. Most of the channels are english if not noted otherwise.

! ! ! Warning ! ! !

I heared, that the previous releases of AOL won't work with IRC, although it should work with a trick. Unfortunately this requires some knowledge about Window 95, so maybe you better ask someone, who is experienced in this. For installation you need: Should AOL not be installed yet, the winsock32.dll from \windows\system\ can be saved. With installed AOL, the winsock32.dll from the Windows 95 CD can be used. After installation of AOL the Windows 95 version of winsock32.dll has to be copied to \windows\system\ . Afterwards it should work. You must understand, that I can't guarantee for anything here, since I have a Mac and neither could test it, nor have to do such weird things for a simple installation.

*Since this channel is quite busy, I would not recommend it for beginners, because it might be quite confusing, when a lot of people are talking at the same time.
On most servers there is also a #tvsex channel.
