Why Do I Do This ?

Ha ! Why do any of us do it ? Being of a particularly curious turn of mind I've thought long and hard about this, with no very clear answer. I know that many TVs say "Don't worry, it's fun, just do it". Well, I don't worry about it now, but I am still curious. Weak father? Yes, sort of, a bit remote and cold, but probably no different to many others. Imprinting ? Did I see my mother in her undies when I was very young and somehow get hooked on them ? Possible ... but who didn't see their mother in her undies ? Am I secretly gay ? No, though I'll refer to this when I talk about my fantasies when I upgrade this site. Anyway, as I understand it most gay men do not dress as women.

So the best I can do is:

• Stress Relief ? Traditionally women are more passive, and often leave the making of decisions to others. So perhaps Julia doesn't feel the same pressures to be decisive, to be a leader, to know all the answers, as her male alter ego.
  
  
• Feelings of Insignificance ? As a man I can't do much to change my appearance or to affect how people see me visually. Julia, however, can be plain or sexy, demure or outrageous, and can make an instant impact.
  
  
• Power ? I can fantasise that Julia has power over men by being as sexy as she wants to be. She can be the centre of attention.
  
  
• A Combination of Factors ? Once I went to a TV meeting dressed, wearing mini skirt and high heels. I said that I would give a lift home to another TV, who wasn't dresssed. As we walked to the car in the dark he had to help me over the rough ground (it made me unsteady on my heels). The headlights of cars (not belonging to TVs) lit us up, and obviously the drivers assumed that I was a woman. I was really turned on by the passivity of needing to be helped and supported and the exhibitionism of showing myself off as a woman to passers by.
