August 16th, 2003
The first annual "Bragging Rights" car show was held August 16th, 2003 at the UAPB stadium parking lot. Car placement started at 8 am and the show was held from 10am to 4pm on a HOT ASS Saturday. The event had 4 classes: Sports Compact, Trucks, Motorcycles, and a Wild class category. I entered in the Sports compact division. It was my first car show and from the looks of it my little baby didn't stand a chance against all the tuned up imports. Much like the name of the event, I entered her to brag. That's my lil baby, I did all the work, I'm here to brag. With a high of 98, a heat index of 105, no shade and not to mention on concrete, it was definentally the hottest day of my life. Thanx to my friends at Competition Car Audio, we had a vendor tent and some fans to ease the heat a bit and enjoy all the custom vehicles in the competion. It was a long hot day, but after 9 hours of heat it was well worth it...enjoy the pics....
Three days of detailing, and she was cleaner then the day I drove her off the lot....
Of course I had to pose with my pride and joy
These are the trucks of my friends at Competition Car Audio
This is Kevin's lowrider that won the "How low can you go" competion, along with that win, Competition Car Audio also took home the trophy for best sound system.Sports Compact was the last to be judged....here's the 2003 winner of the Sports Compact Division.....
Hahaha, yeah buddy..who would have thought that my little girl could beat out all those rice burners. Apparently judges like it when owners do all the work themselves.....
As Champion of the Sports Compact Division, I have to return to the next Bragging Rights Show in May of 2004 to defend my title. That's plenty of time to add a few more things to her....who knows...maybe we can do a repeat...
The first few vehicles arrive at 8 am.....
