I just went through your home page and liked it very much. I live In Mexico City and think I can give you some advice you so as your trip to my country. First of all, I believe you should fly, as roads are not very safe presently, especially for foreigner . Since you're going to be travelling on a budget, I suggest you get a pamphlet from the Mexican Consulate in any big city near where you live. In such pamphlet(s) you can find good information about good and safe and unexpensive hotels. Get in touch with me and I may be able to give you some other pointers for your stay in Mexico.
