The Grand Rapids chapter of Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian,
bisexual, and transgendered persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public;
and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights. Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays provides opportunity
for dialogue about sexual orientation, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity. We're here to help.

All members of the family are welcome at our monthly meetings. From grandparents to little brothers to spouses, you'll always find someone to talk to for support. At PFLAG you will forge strong relationships with trustworthy people who come from a variety of religions, ethnic groups, and walks of life.
Grand Rapids PFLAG offers a spirited meeting format often filled with heartwarming conversation and delightful personalities. Our meeting format is as follows:
- We start off with a short business meeting where you're offered the chance to make a donation to the organization
- Then we preceed to introductions, which are always voluntary.
- We then split up into small support groups for conversation or support. We always offer a special group for people new to PFLAG.
- Afterwards we try to have a presentation such as a speaker or video.
- We use our remaining time for a social gathering, where everyone is free to meet new people, discuss current events, browse through our lending library, or share a snack with a friend.
