On October 11, 1998, WZZM TV13 broadcasting throughout the greater Grand Rapids area did a story on National Coming Out Day and how it affects not only our gay loved ones, but the rest of the family as well. This is only one example of how PFLAG is helping to "spread the word" about our gay loved ones and the challenges they face.
At meetings you can learn other ways to advocate your loved ones, such as wearing a PFLAG pin on your jacket, being open about current gay and lesbian issues, or "coming out" yourself and celebrating your gay loved ones both at work and in your family.
