.......... Jay dropped Jo off at the Hertz Agency a 9:30 and after helping her unload her luggage and carrying it into the waiting room, He gave Jo a kiss and promised to pick her up at the same time in three days or sooner if Jo called.

.......... Jo went to the clerk, presented her credit card, signed the insurance forms and when the yard boy brought the Plymouth Voyager van around to the front loading area, Jo loaded in her things and settled down to wait for the others. Tammy, Mary, and Becky arrived by taxi a few minutes later.

.......... Jo noticed that Tammy was going all out to present the image of a conservatively dressed and obviously feminine young lady. She wore a light blue dress with full skirt. White pantyhose and blue pumps that matched her dress. She wore a delicate gold necklace with matching earrings. Her hair was arraigned so that it swept down over the side of her face yet allowed her earrings to be seen and just touched the collar of her dress. Jo thought she looked lovely and innocent. Just the image that a father would want to see in a teenage daughter.

.......... Becky was dressed in a pink sleeveless pullover knit top and light blue jeans with pink flowers embroidered on the waistband. Mary wore a white pleated knee length skirt, neutral colored pantyhose and a peach colored cotton blouse. Jo thought that together the four women should make quite an impression. Jo had not met Becky yet and as she walked across the parking lot with Tammy it was amazing how much alike they looked. There was no doubt that the two women were sisters.

.......... "Hi guys." Jo said as soon as they got close. "Lets get your stuff into the van." She continued. It's about a three hour drive to Tucson and I think we may want to make a stop for lunch about halfway there."

.........."Becky, It is nice to see you again. Tammy has been telling me how much of a help you have been to her."

.........."Well after the initial shock of it all I couldn't help myself. I actually felt it a challenge to see if I could make a girl out of my brother. But I do love him er.. her dearly. What else could I do?" Beside all that it was you Jo that helped her the most when she really needed it. She would have had a lot worse time with this change thing if it had not been for you." Said Becky. As Jo drove out of the parking lot, she looked at Becky in the rearview mirror.

.........."Becky, I have had a lot of trouble dealing with this thing myself. I think I have reconciled myself to being a female now but it was tough. I think it has really been you that has helped Tammy the most." Said Jo seriously.

.........."That's true Becky. Look how you have even helped me that last few days. And I didn't even know you yet you just took me under your wing." Added Mary.

.........."You see Becky, I told you that Jo would not take credit for helping me. I tried to tell you that you are the one who has helped me and now Mary the most.

.......... "Gee thanks guys, I was really feeling that I was an outsider sticking my nose where it did not belong.

.......... "Becky we are sisters now. You can never do that to me. I need you now, and feel closer to you than ever before. Said Tammy.

.......... "And I need you too." Said Mary.

.......... With that said, a few tears of happiness were shed and a Tammy and Becky who were sitting in the back of the van embraced and hugged each other as only two sisters can do."

.......... Jo said nothing but she did shed a few tears herself. Everything was working out well so far. She thought. This meeting with Tammy and Becky's parents was going to be interesting to say the least.

.......... After a stop for lunch and to freshen up, the remainder of the trip was taken up by conversation on what each of them felt they wanted to do with their new lives. It passed the time quickly and as they approached their destination, Becky gave Jo directions to Werner family home. About a 3 miles from their ultimate destination Becky suggested that they stop at Howard Johnson's to freshen up. Everyone thought that was a good idea. Long trips on open Arizona roads even with air conditioning, does tend to make a person haggard. It would only take ten more minutes to Mr. Werner's home and they would feel a lot better if they looked their best.

.......... Jo and Becky were alone in the ladies room, the others having left to go for a soda.

.........."Jo, can I talk to you for a minute?" Becky asked seriously.

.........."Sure Hon. What's on your mind." Asked Jo.

.........."Well I know you guys had this female change thing happen to you at work. An accident or something. But, well, Tammy has not been very talkative about it and I just don't know how far it has really gone. I know Tammy looks like a girl and everything but......"

..........Jo interrupted her. "Becky I'm sorry, I should have known that Tim, and I call her that because it is Tim not Tammy who is a little reluctant to talk to you about it."

.........."Becky, this may be hard to understand because well frankly even the doctors can't explain it. But you need to know that we are truly women now. The one thing that we do know is that the radiation from that device did cause a total mutation of the male XY chromosomes in our body to the female XX type. Our bodies reacted to that change by "repairing the damage" and making us female. In all aspects including the capability of getting pregnant and having a natural childbirth. And if that doesn't make us women, I don't know what will. Doctor Krell confirmed that to me yesterday. Please understand, Tammy is your sister now totally and completely. And, there is no chance of reversing the effects. They are permanent."

.......... Becky looked at Jo for a long moment. She then reached out to Jo and gave her a compassionate hug. "Thank you Jo. That is what I needed to know."

.........."Your very welcome Becky.

.........."Jo, tell me something, do you have any regrets? Do any of you? Becky asked softly.

.........."None at all now Becky. At first we did but as our new bodies have developed and the hormones take control, our minds are adjusting too. I don't think any of us have a desire to change back at all." Said Jo.

.........."I haven't told Tammy, but yesterday I called my parents and told them about Tammy's change. I didn't want to get into details because I did not know what to tell them." Said Becky.

.........."So what did they say?"

.........."Well my mom is a fairly understanding person but I could not tell how she took it. Dad did all the talking and he repeated what I said to her. As for Dad. He seemed incredulous. Talking about suing Honeybone and stuff like that. I was on the phone with him for over an hour. When He hung up, all he said was get Tim over here. I told him that you and Mary were coming as well. I did not tell him that you guys were in the same situation."

.......... "Did he seem outraged when you hung up." asked Jo.

.......... "No. As a matter of fact he seemed quite calm and pleasant. He mumbled something about "if he had to have two daughters, so be it. Replied Becky

.........."That's good. He probably is having second thoughts. Sleeping on it overnight was probably the best thing for both of your parents."

.........."Well, lets go and have Tammy meet your father and find out."

..........It was close to 3:00 PM as the girls pulled into the driveway of the four bedroom ranch style home on a quite residential street.

..........Becky's parents were standing on the deck overlooking the driveway as they pulled in.

.........."Tammy I think you should sit here in the van for a few minutes while we go make our introductions. Said Jo.

.........."OK." Said Tammy.

..........Jo, Becky and Mary got out of the van and walked the 75 feet or so up the path towards the deck. All Tammy could see was Becky hugging her Mom and Dad. She watched as her father shook hands with Mary and Jo and her mother give each of the women a hug. There was about ten minutes of conversation between the three women and Tammy's parents. Tammy was having a rear case of butterflies and they got worse as her father came down the steps and walked towards her, alone. As he came up to the open side door of the van he looked inside at Tammy. He said nothing except hold out his hand to her obviously asking her to step out of the vehicle.

..........Tammy took her father's hand, and getting up from the seat, she stepped out of the vehicle and onto the driveway. Her father took both her hands in his. Mr. Werner had a straight serious expression on his face. He looked at Tammy for a full minute. Suddenly it changed. His expression changed to a huge smile.

.........."You ARE beautiful Tammy." He said as he pulled her close and embraced her. Tammy's mother left Mary, Jo and Becky on the deck and came running down the walkway as she saw her husband embrace Tammy.

..........Her parents were engaged in a three way embrace. Becky was holding Jo and Mary's hands. She was crying tears of happiness. Jo knew that all was going to be well here in Tucson. She felt relieved and happy for the Werners.

..........For the next three days, The four girls were given the royal treatment by Tammy's parents They had a nice three day vacation, spent a delightful evening the second day at a Tucson dinner-theater and went horseback riding on the last day.

.......... The Werners were told everything about the causes of the change. They were told how it had effected each of them physically and mentally. Mary and Becky became good friends. Tammy and her father were inseparable during those three days. Mr. Werner was obviously pleased with his new teenage daughter and wanted to spend as much time as possible with her. The four girls said their goodbyes at 6:00AM on the morning of the fourth day in Tucson. Mr. Werner had exacted a promise from each of them to return for a visit for Thanksgiving, and everyone agreed that that would be great.

.......... On the way back Jo told her three friends about Jay asking her to marry him and that she had agreed. The excitement that that news generated dominated the conversation all the way back to Phoenix. Tammy was overjoyed. She agreed to be one of Jo's Maids of Honor, and Mary and Becky also agreed to be one of Jo's Brides-maids. Becky, being a Maid of Honor once before for one of her friends offered all kinds of suggestions on where to go and what to do for planning a wedding. Towards the end of the trip back, it was agreed that no one would say anything about the marriage until Jay and Jo officially announced it.

.......... Five hours latter the girls pulled into the parking lot of the Hertz Rental Agency in Phoenix. Jo saw Jay sitting in the lobby. Jo could not help feel herself become excited at seeing Jay. Jo felt that right now all she wanted was to get him in bed again. Jo felt tired of being the comforter of the last three days and really wanted to be comforted herself now. By Jay.

.......... Jay had picked up the Honeybone van from Jo's parking space and brought it with him. After transferring all the luggage into Jo's van, They sighed the rental back in, paid the fees and started for home. Jay drove Mary, Tammy and Becky home and then drove to Jo's apartment. On the way, Jo told Jay about how everything had worked out. That night Jo and Jay enjoyed each other in ways that only true lovers could do.
