Welcome and thanks for taking an interest in my site. I am Dan and this page is a brief synopsis of my life thus far.
I was born in 1964 in Nashville, Tennessee. Currently my home is in Music City as well. Memphis is sort of a second home to me as it is where I earned a BFA
from the Memphis College of Art. It was a great experience for me. I took advantage of the consortium and studied Theatre at Rhodes College. After College
I have done numerous plays and worked as an artist in a variety of ways. I have two children's activity books in publication.
You can view some of my work in my gallery. I have many interests both as an artist and just in general. This will become evident as you explore these pages.
As you can see, I enjoy Halloween. These are a few of my best make-ups and costumes over the past years.
I am considering taking courses and becoming a part-time make-up artist.
Well, for Halloween '97 I really let my inner bitch out to play! I really put the whole look together in a little less than a week but it worked! Sinnamon was born. I think it was because I really wasn't trying to be an existing person. I just made the cool chick I would want to be in a spy movie. Sinnamon is an international spy and chanteuse. I won the drag portion of the costume contest at the Connection, a dance club here in Nashville,and was all the talk of the bar and backstage from what I was told. Maybe a few of the drag queens who perform there were a little nervous...hmmm...
Anyway, I won $200.00 so I was happy even with the sore feet.
Well here is an update on my job situation, I HAVE ONE! I got a job doing "visual merchandising". That just means I do displays at a department store.it's really a lot of fun and can be a constant creative challenge. The good thing about this job is that I use all the varied experience that I have. From my art degree to my theater experience to my retail experience, I use it all. Actually, as of this writing, I have been there about 3 months. It's been crazy and now things are settling down a bit. I am being made an A.D.M.,which is an associate district manager. This just happened today and I'm a little unclear what it all means. I will have to update this info later. What a perfect job for a gay man, I get paid to decorate and arrange things!
