Organized Religion According to Mykee
I was raised in a Southern religion (not Baptist) but still fundamentalism at it's best. I question a great deal of what I was taught. First of all, they think they are the only religion who will go to heaven. I think that is a crock!
I feel my family had this crap drilled into their heads and just bought it. Like "My mama told me this, she wouldn't lie to me, so it's true." They have all their little arguments figured out to support this, so if one questions, they develop a blank stare and start babbling it all out. I personally hate hearing it, so I don'tgive them a chance to go there. In my opinion, two different people can read a verse in the bible and interpret it two different ways. However, the true CofC robot believes only the intrepretation they have been taught.
I am very unsure that homosexuality is as big of a sin as the fundamentalists seem to think it is. I honestly don't think that it is! I was born attracted to members of my own sex, for as long as I can remember members of my same sex looked better to me than the opposite sex did. This was long before I had ever experienced an erection. Small children are innocent and can't sin because of that fact.
My Main point: Let's say for example Homosexuality is a sin.(It isn't!!!) Hold Homosexuality in your right hand and Adultery in your left. Which weighs more? To me a sin is a sin. Yet we have these fundamentalist assholes focussing on us all the time. Is that because the minister is porking his neighbor's wife? It throws the heat off them.
Plus heterosexuals are repulsed to think about sex with their same sex. So just because they don't wish to partake, does that make it wrong? Personally, I am not sexually attracted to women. That thing between their legs is ugly, I have zero desire to place my toy in there. It might have teeth and bite it off! Some of my best friends are women. I just choose to not have sex with them. =]
Personally, I believe in God, and feel a need for spirituality in my life. I am as out as one can be here in BFT and am unwilling to mingle with those jerks. No organized religion wants us. They treat us as if we are serial killers. I'm not a horrible person! We don't have a choice about this the same as a black person has no choice asbout their skin color. Personally, I think they all are going to hell for being so judgemental!
