I met Kevin through the Dognut site, we began to chat and discovered that we shared several similar interests. When I decided to visit Kevin in November of 1999, I was on a segment builder crusade to get enough segments to make Medallion status before the end of the year, so I did some creative booking and managed to build an itinerary that had six segments, so I had a nice long day of travel to get from Tampa to South Bend. I started out early in the morning on Saturday, and it was a beautiful warm day in Tampa, by the time I got to the airport, I had realized that I had forgotten my jacket. Oops, well it was too late to go back and get it. On Sunday I would discover just how cold and Windy Lake Michigan really can be. We were going to take some pictures by the lake, Kevin had a jacket and was freezing. I was wearing my moccasins , and although we never left the pavement, I think I had half of a beach worth of sand in them when I returned to Tampa, and I did not even know it.

This trip was also somewhat reminiscent of the trip I made the previous weekend to New Jersey, but instead of drink, we discovered how difficult it is to find a decent meal at a restaurant with some ambiance on a Sunday afternoon. We did find this really kewl place that was of very nice architecture, but sadly it did not open on Sunday until after my plane was to board. It was a very enjoyable trip, and Kevin did indeed live up to my expectations, as he is a very sweet and warm guy with a great sense of humor.

I would have the opportunity to repay Kevin's hospitality in January of 2K. I can't imagine why anyone from Indiana would want to visit Florida in January. LOL Actually, Kevin was finally able to escape the grind of work and the chill of winter for some warmth in the Florida sun. I enjoyed showing him Tampa, and I'm sure that he loved historic Ybor City as much as I do. In addition to the spirited night life, and a good smattering of longhaired men to enhance the appearance of the crowd, Ybor City is very picturesque with its old architecture. In addition to Ybor City, we spent an afternoon in the park of the University of Tampa taking pictures, and of course visited Metropolis.

Kevin is truly a great guy, and you can't go wrong if you are fortunate enough to call him friend.

I'd better like what you write me bitch!  Don't look Ethel!!!!
