What would you like to know about
my family?
~S~
For starters, I'm 26 years old,
and married to one of the most wonderful men in the world. Paul is 31
years old, and since the day we met, has been my best friend and
treasured lover. I don't know what in the blazes he did to deserve a
nutty wife like me... but it must have been awful bad.~GRIN~
One of the wonderful blessings I
have, thanks to him, is our son, Sean Michael. Growing up, I swore
the last thing I ever wanted to do, was to be a mother... well... I
stand corrected!
Being a mother, has opened my
eyes to so many things I thought I'd lost forever... the excitement
of Christmas... upcoming birthdays... wake up calls at all hours for
bad dreams and illnesses. Naps disturbed, messes of all kinds to
clean up and of course, that terrific view of the floor I get when I
fall over one of Sean's toys.~LOL~
Living with us, is my lady love,
Gwen. Many of you who have met me in chat, have also met her. She is
known as ShadowArtist in the chat rooms.
We met, believe it or not, on my
job. She was one of my customers back in 1997 when floods hit
Kentucky really hard. We didn't get to talk, or know each other at
all when that meeting happened... it wasn't until about 2 or 3 months
later, that we would meet again, on-line, and REALIZE that we had met
during those floods.
After we met again on-line,
through CHIFROG, an
on-line lady-friend of mine from
Chicago, Gwen and I decided to chance meeting in real life, and chose
to meet in Cincinnati, which was more or less right smack dab between
our homes.
The room we had met in, was a
bi-sexual/lesbian chat room... (That's right fellas... for women
only.~S~) and while I was married, I was interested in meeting a
woman I could become involved with. Gwen, was about a year into life
as an unattached lesbian, and was seeking a relationship, if she
could ever find someone she could stand being with.~L~
When I met her in Cincinnati, I
knew from the moment we shook hands and said hello, that I was a
goner. I don't know how to say it, except to say that she's one of
those kind of people that have a kindness and gentleness that just
jumps out at you. She was, and is, very soft spoken... almost shy
acting at times. What struck me most about her, was her touch and
sense of class. She knew, inside and and out, what being a true lady
was all about.
Since that warm summer afternoon,
we've come a long way together. She lives with us now, as a member of
the family, with her daughter. It's no small source of pride to me,
to say that she is as close to me in every way as my husband, who is
also, the father of her baby.
Gabrielle Lynn, Gwen's daughter,
is the result of something that Gwen shared with me when she and I
were putting my son to bed around January of last year. She and I
were talking about motherhood. I started to sense that motherhood was
something Gwen wanted in her future. When we sat in the living room,
I found out for sure. She was in tears when she told me flat out,
that she wanted to have a baby someday, and had no idea how it would
ever happen.
Being lesbian seemed to her to be
an obstacle. My suggestions about artificial means, didn't do much to
soothe her. She said that she didn't want her baby to have a medical
implement for a father.~S~ I had another suggestion in mind, which I
later talked to my husband about. With his blessing, I approached
Gwen with the idea... that if she wanted to, she could spend time
with my husband to make her dream come true. She thought about it,
and we talked a little more, and she told me if it came to it, she
wanted me involved too,
A few weeks later, all the right
things happened, and we began to try to fulfill her dream. By April,
Gwen was pregnant and due for the middle of December. She wound up
giving birth a month premature, and named her daughter Gabrielle,
after my chat handle, and my first girlfriend, who actually opened my
eyes to other women.
Our household is unusual... but
never dull. And it's filled with a lot of love. What more could a
woman ever ask for?~S~ |
