In this fast paced world it seems we concentrate on the physical reality that surrounds us. Our days are crammed with life's little difficulties that sprout from our jobs and private lives.
Sometimes I feel like something is missing in life, that it is incomplete, that I am searching, seeking MORE. I use to envy those people with strong religious faith. The ones who found comfort and happiness in their churches. I belonged to no particular faith, none called to me.
Besides, I am a woman of science, yet...science is not the "end-all, be-all" of life. Ironicaly enough, it was Science that awakened the Spiritual side of my life.Studying biology in school I was fascinated by the life that thrives around us. The natural world is at once beautiful and terrible. Sometimes it is just plain amazing. The conditions needed to support life are pretty demanding, thus difficult to meet. Yet life surrounds us, engulfs us, and can teach us alot.
We can learn many things about ourselves through the observation of our environment. A quiet moment spent watching an ant walking along its path imagining its life, its perspective can help us see our own situation more clearly.
Life is magickal and mystical if you take the time to look at it. Revel in the wonder of it all. The sheer beauty that surounds us. When is the last time you had a good look around?
