Why Peregrine?
I chose the name Peregrine for alot of reasons but chiefly from an experiance I had as a young girl. I was once in Girl Guides(I shudder at the thought!) and we had our 75th anniversary celebration at Fundy National Park near Alma, NB. On one of the organized hikes we saw the Peregrine Falcon nest and re-introduction centre. I looked through the telescope and saw the nest. I was amazed by this nest that seemed part of the rockface so far above the boiling Bay of Fundy.
I was told of the falcon's near extinction from the effects of DDT. Today it seems the Peregrine is coming back "enforce".
I am inspired by the beauty, grace, fragility, and resiliance of this bird. The name Peregrine has come to embody sucess in the face of adversity.
