SIGN POST FOREST

In Watson Lake, Yukon, Canada, there's a place called the "Sign Post Forest." Watson Lake is the crossroads joining the lower territories of Canada to the wild, untamed northern reaches of the Yukon. People all over the world travel thousands of miles with momentos from their hometown and place them in the Sign Post Forest: street signs, license plates, highway signs, wood carved plaques, and even an occasional handwritten note. There are hundreds of "trees" (wooden poles) and literally thousands of signs commemorating each traveler's journey to the Great North. The story goes, that the Sign Post Forest began during World War II when a homesick soldier posted a sign from his hometown to remind him of his loved ones. And so it goes...

Soon we'll have a picture of the entire Forest for you. Until then, here is where we left our momento for posterity.

The license plate is what we left behind!
