This Site

I am an insomniac, and this site was written while I was downloading Macromedia Flash 5.0. Internet connection was a bit slow and I just couldn't wait to try out one of Macromedia's more celebrated software.

So there I was, a Marlboro between my lips and composing these web pages with Max's HTML Beauty ++ ME (Man, until now I can't figure out what that '++ME' means) while waiting for GoZilla to finish the download. I didn't even have an idea of what kind of content I'll put in this website!

Realizing however that there are a lot of websites in the WWW with practically nothing in them, I decided that I might as well add to the number. So...

Composition Of These Web Pages

The webpages that make up this website are composed of the following main pages (other pages will be added later on):

To format the elements that make up these pages (background color, fonts, font colors, font sizes), I made use of inline and embedded stylesheets. The embedded stylesheet for this particular page looks like this:

As you can see there is nothing special about the stylesheet. But the specifications are adequate for a readable text. No images are used for these main pages (since I haven't had the time to make them yet) and their absence makes for quick loading. The mouseover effects that you see when going over the links is pure CSS.

To link these pages together, I made use of a combo navigation script from one of my favorite hangouts, Website Abstraction. The script is easy to configure and can be seen if you view the source of this page. There is another set of link texts at the bottom of the page. These are for browsers that are javascript challenged (either because they are old or because their javascript is disabled..

Javascripts, Content and Navigation

I also am using the document.write function for some of the contents of this website and for the navigation. This way, updating some of the pages -- especially the combo box above -- is easy.
