Punkee's Journal: First Issue

Today is a great day! Today, for the first time I am going to see my article published. I wrote this paragraph immediately when I heard the news that the homepage will be finally set up after a long time of wait. I don't want this preface to take so long, so here goes the articles I have been writing during these past few days! (Ooops, pardon the typeface. Mom's old typewriter, ya know!)

Item. The Unterwelt now has an official advertising page on the Web. What is the Unterwelt? It's just two brothers trying to have fun together (why, how many brothers do you see having a nice time together?). "Unterwelt" is a German word which means "underworld." It doesn't mean a thing really. It is just nice to hear ... kind of mystical. Besides, Ray and I wanted a phrase that meant "the Underside" but "Unterseite" just wasn't cool (apart from also sounding like "underpage" -- yuccch!). So we picked Unterwelt.

What's os special about "The Unterwelt?" Nothing. Like I said, it is just a name I and Ray picked up to designate ourselves. If it is going to be special, it is going to be because of you, our visitor. Come and visit this page once in a while. Interact with us. Read more of the texts that I write on my Mom's typewriter. Let this page generate hits for the rest of the homepage. (Did Jean and Dina already tell you that there is a contest involved here?)

Item. That former Bull coach (what's his name) with the Lakers? I am not surprised that Jerry West and company would like to have him on their side. The Lakers have been going down every year inspite of Kobe Bryant and Shaq O'Neill. (The move to get Dennis Rodman to play with them was a desperate move. On that I agree with Pops). Bryant has been trying hard to be the NEXT Michael Jordan. But to be like MJ, one has first to win a championship for ones team on a bad stomach (let Kobe try that once!). Shaq will never be like Kareem Abdul Jabbar or Wilt Chamberlain. Not unless he concentrates on his basketball rather than on his other commitments.

Item. Bill Gates on the Docks. Well, what can they do to Microsoft anyway?

Item. Ray's Homepage. Boy, he sure spiced it up. The only thing I can say about his plans of turning it into a lovers' website (complete with advice corner, love chats, forum for love and marriage, etc...) is a good idea ... if he can find the right people to run it! Well, he has been doing a nice job designing it. There are still a lot of broken links though. Some pages are just nice ... thanks to Atelier Cornichon, Grabngo Graphics and Web Voodoo. (But I didn't know that Ray can customize mouse-over graphics now.)

Item. Future plans for this page. I am thinking of looking for a background set for these pages. I am also thinking of adding a poll or two for your opinions of course to increase interactivity, and to go way way ahead of the Okey Girls. I saw some animated graphics from animated factory just some days ago. Maybe I should give them a place here, just to spice up my space. And then I have a friend who wishes to write on religious matters... you know like Buddhism and other stuff. Maybe I can spare him a line or two.

Well, for now, this is it! I'd be writing some more in a couple of days or two. I hope that by then I'd see more hits registered on this page. (Boy, Mom's typewriter is really, I mean really old!) For any comments, just post something in our messageboards. It will take some time yet before I have my own email account.
