We gays are a colorful bunch, and the rainbow is our logo. Well, from the above picture of myself and a DeadHead bear I had just met, and posed for this picture with, at Fiesta de los Osos 2001, you can see just how colorful we can truly be. When this nice guy saw me in my tie-dye, he put his on, and showed it to me, and another bear had a digital camera, so this is how this picture came into being! For more pictures from this Fiesta, go to my Bear page (the link is further down on this page), and click on the Bears of the Old Pueblo link. If you like the tie dye shirt, they are made by Rainbow Tie-Dyes, PO Box 2344 Alpine, California 91903 (They make up to 10X shirts) or call (619) 659-1055. I got this one at the Tucson 4th Avenue Street Fair, a great bi-annual event.
Enjoy the Beauty of Autumn
Just for fun, in honor of the Season, I added this.
For those who are wondering, I live in Tucson, Arizona, in the Sonoran desert. Fortunately, we have a large gay community, as well as a growing pagan community here also including Fellowship of Isis Iseums and Lyceumsand other groups, mostly Wiccan. There are a lot of covens in town, though not all of them are known to the public. There are some that have a mostly "straight" orientation, and some, of course, are Dianic women's groups. Until recently, I was high priest of our coven, but it is not currently active. However, we did put up a webpage for it, which includes infomation on the Faery faith, visit ElvenStar.
I have also created several other webpages. To visit one of them, click on this hyperlink Enter the realm of Eye of Sokar, pagan querant
I have studied the pagan path for many years. I was first initiated as a witch, and have always worked with the faery realm. I also completed my ten years of study to become a Druid, and have created a grove, for more information, check out my Andred's Haven Celtic Druid Grove page which is a site dedicated to Traditional (non-wiccan) Celtic Druidism.
I am a Bear. For those of you not familiar with that term, let me explain. A Bear is a gay term for a man with a lot of body hair. Bears generally tend to have beards and moustaches. Bears also tend to be rather heavyset, though some smaller bears, called bearcubs, are also out there. Bears are gay (or Bi) but are more down-to-earth and less trendy than the general gay crowd. For an interesting site that is Bear-related, click on the word Bears here. Also check out my Bear page for more bear links and pictures of some of the men I like. My bear page includes links to various Bear sites. The bears have a strong presence on the internet, which is definitely a good thing!
I am definitely gay. I am still single, and looking for the right bearman to spend my life with. (any bears out there reading this, take notice). I like sex, but consider it less important than love.
Here is another picture of me, lying on a sofa petting my beloved bunny, Andred. She was named for Andrada, the Moon Goddess of the Celtic people. I am of the Andred tradition of the Celtic Fairy Witchcraft, and of the Elven-Elemental Tradition. For more on my little Andred, see below.
I am a writer. I have had a fair number of articles published in Circle Network News. Click on the image of the Stone circle below to visit Circle's homepage. I have also been published in Dragon's Chronicle (London, England), Silver Chalice (which, sadly, ceased publication last year), and White Crane Journal (a gay men's spirituality quarterly). I used to be a regular contributing writer for Tapestry, a local wiccan publication. My writing is in a few specific areas mainly, Paganism, and Science fantasy or general fantasy, though I also write on herbalism and holistic healing. At the present time, I am working on several books, some fiction, the others are pagan books on the Faery Faith and our own Elven Elemental Tradition. I also write poetry, the link to that page is near the top of this page, scroll up if you missed it earlier.
I am an herbalist, and, until recently, I wrote a column for the local gay paper, the Weekly Observer. I also have archived a few of my articles that I have had published in the Observer, go to My Go in Good Health column page to view them. The Observer has an on-line version, as well as a paper version that is distributed to local gay bars, check out The Weekly Observer on-line edition which is changed weekly. Click on columns to find my column, also check out Community Calendar and the many articles and newspieces of interest to the Les/Bi/Gay community.
There aren't many local gay papers, but we do have the RubyFruit Journal for women, but it's only available in a print edition, go to Antigone Books, Tucson's Best Independent bookstore to pick up a copy. They have a lot of wonderful books, including a Gay and Lesbian book section, and a good selection of Gay and Pagan/Metaphysical Magazines, including Circle, OUT, Advocate, Genre, and many magazines for women. They are on 4th Avenue, the neatest and most eclectic part of Tucson. We have 2 Street Fairs a year on the avenue, and many gay owned businesses there, such as Desert Pride, the Gay Store and a gay bar, a coffee shop, and the gay community center. Queer pride, indeed! This is a part of town I like to hang out in, frequently.
As a pagan, I love to burn incenses and oils, and use them frequently in my magickal ceremonies and daily meditations. For an excellent company that makes high quality incenses and oils, and other magickal products, check out EarthScents by Marah
I'm always adding new material, making minor changes, and such, so, excuse the mess, I'm always improving this site!
I really enjoy the music of October Project. Unfortunately, they only released two albums, their eponymous first and then Falling Farther In. After they were dropped by their label (a colossal error on Sony's part!) the band broke up. They all moved on to other musical projects. The picture above is of Mary Fahl and Marina Belica, the former lead singer and backing vocalist of this mystical, almost pagan band. After a long wait, we are pleased that Mary Fahl has released an EP with 4 songs from her forthcoming album, "Lenses of Contact," which came out January 16th, 2001. You can purchase it at the Roughmix website which has various "roughmix" versions of albums in progress. It is also available at CDNOW.Com. Marina is still making music also, she released a 5-track EP including a lovely cover of the October Project song "Return to Me" (which she did backing vocals for originally), available on her website. She is recording now under the name of December Girl and plans to release a full album soon.
I love rabbits also, go to my Andred memorial page or my Lorien and Silvari memorial page or my Gwynnie page for my lovely Welsh bunny girl, Gwynn, who lives at my teacher's home.
The images above, are, in order from top to bottom, Gwynn, our beloved bunny girl, my cherished bunny, Andred, the Red Goddess, (who I miss so much, but I know has been reborn as Elnari, my Elfling bunnyboy,) and Lorien with his mate Silvari, who was an excellent mother. I know they are with Mother Andred, the Celtic Moon Goddess, in the Meadow where all rabbits go when they die.
If you are interested in knowing more about how to care for rabbits, or donate for rabbit rescue, go to the Excellent House Rabbit Society Homepage If you would like some useful information on rabbit care, go to Click here: HOLISTIC RABBIT
CARE
I love all animals, so I like cats, the cat with the rabbits is Pierre, and lives with my teacher's daughter. No, he doesn't live with me, but I know him well. He is a true Cancerian kitty in every sense of the word, and very vocal.
I also really enjoy reading. Some of my favorite authors, for serious literature, are Katherine Kurtz, Anne McCaffrey, David Eddings, and many others too numerous to list. I also love to curl up with a good comic. Just for fun, I have included a strip from one of my childhood favorites, Peanuts, a truly classic comic. I also really enjoy Garfield, and have collected most of the comic books from both strips.
BEAR PRIDE IS BEAUTIFUL
What would life be without friends? Dull, I tell you! The picture below is of my best friend, Brad, and myself, at a local pagan festival a few years ago. For more on the wild and weird and wonderful world of my best friend, go to Brad's page with some real cool pages on his site. For those curious about Tucson, where we live, he even has a map of the town! And a nice pagan page and a naughty Men I like page too.
My all-time musician is the very talented singer/actress Cyndi Lauper. Her music has evolved from the mid eighties when she was vastly popular, and had four top ten hits on her debut solo album, She's So Unusual. She was the first female artist to acheive that honor. She is about to release a new album, called Shine, due out on September 11, 2001. She has already performed some of the songs from it, and her live performance of "Water's Edge",( a ballad she produced with the same man who helped her with Time After Time) with Anne Wilson of Heart brought tears to my eyes. She performed the song at the Girls With Guitars concert, a benefit for breast cancer.
For other musicians I like, check out my Songlist page, which links to Billboard charts
people have checked out this page since I had to re-install my counter, and over five thousand more before that, on the previous counter. Thanks for stopping by, and please sign my guestbook. Goddess bless!
And YOU thought you had bad hair days? I just put this picture up for fun, since it was so darn funny. I have had lots of cats and rabbits over the years, and known quite a few others, but None of them had hair like this snarly kitty!
