How to Worship God with a Deck of Cards

Each card in the deck represents the following. It applies to every suit in the deck.

Ace=One God

Two=the two parts of the Bible-Old Testament and New Testament

Three=the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

Four=the Four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John

Five=the Five virgins that were ten but only five were glorified

Six=the Six days it took God to create the Heavens and the Earth

Seven=the Seventh day when God rested

Eight=the family of Noah (his wife, three sons and their wives) which God saved from the flood that destroyed the earth for the first time

Nine=the lepers that Jesus cleansed of leprosy. He cleansed ten but nine never thanked him

Ten=the Ten Commandments that God handed down to Moses on tablets of stone

Jack=a reminder of Satan who was one of God’s first angels, but got kicked out of heaven for his sly and wicked ways

Queen=the virgin Mary

King=Jesus, for he is the King of all Kings

Joker=Devil himself

When you count all the dots on all the cards in the deck, you come up with 365-one for every day of the year.

There are 52 cards in a deck-one for each week in a year.

The four suits represent the four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.

Each suit has thirteen cards- one for each week in a quarter.

So when you want to worship God and/or talk to God, pull out any old deck of cards and be reminded of all you have to be thankful for.

The titles of more than a thousand novels, plays and books of poetry have been taken from The Bible.

Charles Dickens tagged the tale of the Prodigal Son (found in the New Testament) "the best short story ever written."

Sarah is the only woman in the Bible whose age is given. . . She was 127 years old when she died!

The Bible upon which F.D.R. took the oaths of office both as Governor and President was published in 1686 and had been in the Roosevelt family for over 200 years.

The first Bible printed in America was in the Indian language.

The numerals "seven" and "40" are the most frequently used in The Bible . . . "Seven" appears in 250 different verses. . . Here are a few examples of the use of "40". . . Moses was on the Mount 40 days and 40 nights. . . The men who went to Canaan took 40 days. . . Elijah was on Mount Horeb 40 days and nights. . . The Israelites were in the hands of the Philistines for 40 years. . . Christ was tempted by Satan for 40 days. . . Saul, David, Solomon and Joash each reigned as King for 40 years. . . The Israelites ate manna for 40 years.

And finally . . .
Typo and translation errors have made several editions famous. . . "The Bug Bible" gets its name from a line in Psalms 1:5, "Afraid of bugs by night." . . . This line now reads "terror by night." . . . "The Wicked Bible" (1631) is so known because the "not" was omitted from the Seventh Commandment . . . Thou shall (not) commit adultery . . . "The Placemaker's Bible" (1562) carries this line in Matthew 5:9, "Blessed are the placemakers." . . . It should read, "peacemakers." . . . Then there's "The Murderer's Bible" . . . In the Epistle of Jude, 16th Verse, "murderers was inadvertently substituted for "murmurers."

Here's a Fun Bible Quiz

There are16 books of the Bible hidden in text. See if you can find them!

I once made a remark about the hidden books of the bible. It was a lulu, kept people looking so hard for the facts and for others it was a revelation. Some were in a jam, especially since the names of the books were not capitalized, but the truth finally struck home to numbers of readers. To others it was a real job. We want it to be a most fascinating few moments for you. Yes, there will be some real easy ones to spot. Others may require judges to help them. I will quickly admit it usually takes a minister to find one of them, and there will be loud lamentations when it is found. A little lady says she brews a cup of tea so she can concentrate better. See how well you can compete. Relax now, for there really are sixteen names of books in the bible in this story. The end.
