The fun started on a Thursday night when I visited
Jacque's, Boston's oldest and leading T* bar, located near Stuart and Charles
and the theater district. (I had hoped to be accompanied by my very attractive
Vanity Club friend
Tracy
Anderson but she fell ill and could only act as a tour guide by phone.
Nonetheless, she was helpful in so many ways. Thanks Tracy!) Since there
was a floor show starting at 10:30 p.m. and no dancing, I spent much of
the evening meeting as many of the girls as I could and I also met a guy
who was nice enough to take the accompanying pics of me in front of Jacque's.

Surprisingly, the place closed at midnight because
of the quasi-residential neighborhood but several of the "more experienced"
girls told me to join them at Chaps, a gay dance club only two blocks walk
away. Unfortunately, it was Rap night, scarcely my favorite music, and
no one seemed to be interested in dancing with a "white chick."
(As the comedian George Goble once said, "Have you ever felt like
the world was a tuxedo and you were a pair of brown shoes?")

Friday was quite a bit more fun. It was gorgeous
day and I went out to see the downtown Boston area wearing my new slacks
and sweater outfit. Walked over to and spent several hours shopping at
Copley Plaza.Especially enjoyed the gowns at the Jessica McClintock store
and got a pic outside Neiman Marcus (aka Needless Markup?)

Walked down Boyleston to the Boston Common on
a glorious late afternoon and took some pics on the bridge over the lake
and at the memorial to the Boston Massacre. Thrilled that this over "Jack
Bennie 39 year old" girl passed impeccably and weary from 4 hours
of walking, I stopped in at P.K. Chang's for happy hour and had two drinks
to refresh and relax. Doesn't get much better than this I thought as I
sat there.

After a short nap and change (the black leather
mini and fuchsia jacket which you see elsewhere on my site) it was off
to Jacque's again. A male regular took me under his wing and introduced
me to many more of the girls on a more crowded night. Watched the show's
beautiful lead star, Stephanie Whyte, do several nice songs and then back
to Chaps, where this time the music was "bump and grind machine."
(Ugh! Place desperately needs some latin rhythm.) A special late night
treat was a stage number by a group of girls (T* and GG) built off the
theme to The Twilight Zone; it was a real show stopper and left one asking
for more. Finished off the evening by having a drink with
Vera Rose, who now lives in Boston and once managed Kimo's in SF. She has
a great sense of humor and has been into the drag scene well before it
reached its present state.
