State Rendezvous
June 18-20,
2004 - Altamont, IL
As with most years, this year was also a great time. The weather was perfect. I volunteered to help Renee sell ABATE products in their building. It was great as I got to meet a lot of people from other chapters. And what a fun bunch they are. If you have never been to the State Party, you should definitely consider it. The trip down and the trip back are almost as much fun as the party itself. Popeye and I managed to dodge some rain coming down while we heard some others got caught in it. And since we left later than usual, we had to ride in the dark which was a challenge not hitting any stray deer. Check out the photos and see for yourself some of the State Party goings on. Of course I can't show some photos since this is a "G" rated site. Contact me personally if you want to see those. I also have video clips of this event but as of yet have not learned how to edit digital video. I'm working on it and will post as soon as I get up to speed.
We had to check out "Tom Cat" polishing his bike for the show. He is pretty particular about it. However, I would be too if I owned that bike.
Roger with this years toy for SPAM. I think it was a Miss Piggy thingie robot or whatever. As I recall, it actually walked. Roger, you are so talented.
Renee at the products building. She is a great gal to help out. If you ever have time at the party, please help her if you can.
George and Vicki checking out all the ABATE shirts that were available. It is amazing how many products ABATE actually has.
And who is this? For some guys, the world is their urinal.
Just hanging by Turk and Becky's booth.
This year I had to check out the parade to downtown Altamont. Here they are getting lined up.
And off they go. The parade draws quite a few riders from the fairgrounds to Altamont which is just over a mile or so.
More happy bike revelers on their way.
It wasn't that hot. Get the shorts on a Harley. You guys are so bad. Geez!
Funky outfit Blaze!!! I just know I saw those leggings in the Wizard of Oz somewhere.
Tom Cat and Kitty misbehaving. And from what I heard, it got much more intense as the evening wore on.
These two gals were misbehaving too.
But as you can see, they didn't care. And neither did we.
And neither did this guy. Whose hand is that and what are they doing?
The Freeport ABATE bar Saturday evening. It draws quite a crowd if you have never been there.
More Freeport ABATE bar crowd.
Sunday. We must leave. Tents come down, and bikes get packed. But the long 300 mile trip is almost as much fun as the party. See ya next year.
