Turkey Testicle Festival
October 6, 2007 - Byron, IL

It's that time of year again. The air is somewhat brisk. The leaves are falling a bit by now. Farmers are in their fields harvesting. And the sun feels great on a day like this. Well, it was a bit brisk. At least for me. The ride to the festival kept me bundled up. But then I hate cold weather. But hey, no rain! We started at Cedar Inn in Cedarville as usual. Then went up to some towns in Wisconsin. Then back to Illinois. It was a great ride as we were on some roads that I have not traveled yet. Mostly in Wisconsin. The festival was packed with bikers. More than I've ever seen there before. And we took the time to chow down at the Firehouse right across the street. I've never been there. If you haven't either, I suggest you give it a try. A fantastic and very cool place to hang out. Wish we had something like that up in our neck of the woods. All in all, I would say the run and festival was a great success this year. I believe ABATE of Freeport had somewhere between 250 and 300 riders sign up. That is great! Helps out our chapter in many ways. So check out a few pix I took and see if there is anyone you know in them.

Brain Wing signing up at the Cedar Inn in Cedarville Illinois.

More riders signing up as Arnie Binning watches.

And still more riders signing in. What a popular place the Cedar Inn is.

OK, so not everyone was on two wheels. But you can bet with ABATE, anyone is welcome.

I just had to take a photo of this Indian Scout. I just would kill for one.

The crew at the local stop in Durand Illinois.

Brian Wing in Brodhead Wisconsin. A very cool little town if you have never been there.

We were one of the first from Freeport ABATE to arrive at the festival. But we were not first ones there by any means. It was jammed.

I can't remember this gal's name. But I have not seen her in a while but am glad she is still the festival mascot.

A wide shot looking down the street from Union.

Even the alley across the street was full of bikes. See ya next year.
